We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Willson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grant, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In early 2022 me and my partner Ayric Angeles decided to take our chances on a buisness we’d been discussing for months prior. Me and Ayric both grew up in Corona,CA so there was a lot of Agriculture and Farming that definitely helped shape our vision. Another big influence was Farmer Dave Strandberg of Corona who was nice enough to teach and introduce us to a lot of different Farming techniques that we carry on with us today. With all this prior knowledge we end up here today with Farm Fresh Delivery the first same-day farmers market delivery service!

What should our readers know about your business?
Farm Fresh Delivery is a California based startup that looks to serve the USA.  Farm Fresh Delivery originated in Irvine, CA at the OC Great Park Farmers Market, hoping to eventually expand to Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco Counties with hope to expnabd to many more cities across America. Farm Fresh looks to connect farmers and consumers together to provide locally grown produce and products conveniently to your doorstep. Unlike our competitors Farm Fresh plans on having same day delivery with an added tracking feature to let you know exactly when your order is going to arrive. Another unique feature we implement is that we special train our employees to have the knowledge to be able to pick your delicate produce with confidence you’re going to get the freshest produce. Starting out there was definitely a lot of doubt as to whether the Vendors would even be interested in such a service but after being persistent and talking one on one with them our future buisness plans were solidified after our idea was met with eager responses and excitement!We have been so fortunate to be able to even be at this point and given these opportunities which God has blessed us. Farm Fresh Delivery aims to connect local Farmers with everyday family’s delivering the freshest produce to your doorstep every single day. Supporting local growers and small buisness is something our company thrives on and we hope to inspire more people to help support local farmers and farms and buy local!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s only one place that comes to mind when I think of the best all around city in California, and that city is San Diego. Whether it’s the rolling beaches, the awesome people or the absolutely amazing food San Diego really has it all. First we would definitely have to check out Coronado Island and hit the beach there and then hit Pacific Beach later in the day for its amazing night life. Next stop dinner at Roberto’s taco shop in Ocean Beach for their amazing authentic Mexican food. I view San Diego as the most diverse city because there’s ample things to see or do and I never find myself getting bored when I’m in San Diego.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We have two people who have helped us so much along the way with this whole process. Firstly, former mentioned Dave Strandberg of Corona genuinely exerted the influence of Growing your own things and the importance of hard work. Dave was a major influence on us both and we thank him so much for his positive influence on our lives may he rest in peace. Another mentor who has helped us in more recent years is our SCORE mentor Dennis Hafferman. Dennis has taken many hours of his busy schedule to give us his advice for starting our buisness all for free! Without the help of Dennis me and Ayric would be moths behind..We really appreciate both Dennis and Dave as without them our business would be non existent.
