We had the good fortune of connecting with Gisele Chalhoub and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gisele, any pet peeves with networking events? Anything you feel works well in terms of relationship building?
Here at Events by Gisele, we like to work with those who share similar values and characteristics as us. Something that I look for is transparency. It is important that we are on the same page and share the common goal of putting our client first. I would like to connect with those who share excitement and enthusiasm about the creative process to achieve the client’s vision. It is important to me to work with vendors that I can see a future with, by doing a good job that enables us to sustain a good reputation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Attention to detail is what sets me apart. I earned my college degree in Art, which allows me to use my creative outlook in the events that I help come to life. I treat every event as if it is a blank canvas. I sketch it according to my clients’ vision. What sets me apart is the unique combination of my sense of creativity and organization. It is important to maintain an open mind and keep up with the latest trends in the industry. Also, surrounding myself with an A-team of reliable vendors ensures success for designing the perfect event. My goal is to put forth a trustworthy influence that makes my clients feel comfortable and at ease. I always give every event my all, and never take my experience for granted.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
San Diego has many beautiful destinations that you must see as a tourist, but also make for an amazing venue for events. The first that comes to mind is the city of Coronado, which is filled with bay side restaurants and attractions including the Ferry landing. To top it off, Coronado is home to the historic Hotel Del Coronado, a perfect venue for any San Diego event, especially weddings. I also want to give a shoutout to Downtown San Diego, which is the whole package. Downtown is filled with ocean-view hotels and paired with a fun night life, guaranteed to make a beautiful spot for any event.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Doing what I do would not be possible without all of the amazing caterers, florists, photographers, videographers, entertainment companies and all the other vendors that make it all happen. Similarly, events cannot happen if it wasn’t for the Event and Catering Managers at the hotels. These people work behind the scenes to make sure every event runs smoothly.
