We had the good fortune of connecting with Gilbert “Catfish” Mares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gilbert “Catfish”, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have a great work life balance. I have a steady career in Los Angeles. I play music on the weekends and during the week Produce, host and promote a radio show on 99.1 KLBP FM

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Along with playing harmonica, singing and booking my band for gigs. Being able to host and produce my own radio show has been a breeze. Conversations with my guests have been rewarding

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The honest to goodness spot would be KNOTTS BERRY FARM.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to 99.1 KLBP FM for allowing me to have my show on the Air for almost 5 years. Allowing me to produce over 200 episodes and interview over 100 Guests
