Meet Genesis Johari Adames Gervacio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Genesis Johari Adames Gervacio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Genesis Johari, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
You never truly know how close you are to your goal, which is why it’s so important to keep going. Life constantly gives us signs—pay close attention to them. Notice what’s working for you and double down on it. It’s about staying open, learning from every experience, and continuously improving. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come right after moments of doubt, so trust the process, trust yourself, and always strive for progress, not perfection.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey has been like a dream, filled with dedication and passion since my university days. I’ve always believed that the process is only as hard as you make it. I chose to enjoy it, embracing every challenge with a mindset of growth. This approach taught me a valuable lesson: give your all in everything you do. Even if it doesn’t turn out ‘perfect,’ it will still be the best version of you, and others will recognize that effort.
Since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to build a marketing and design studio. That vision has guided me every step of the way, and I never stopped until I made it happen. Today, I run a creative and marketing studio, and I’m proud to say that the seeds of this dream were planted when I was just 15, working from my bedroom. Now, at 20, I’m leading a team and helping brands bring their stories to life.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is that we are often our own biggest obstacles. Sometimes it’s fear, lack of experience, or worrying about what others might think that holds us back. But the truth is, you won’t know what’s possible until you try. My advice? Take the leap, and only after that can you truly reflect on the outcome.
What truly sets me apart is my belief that the digital world is about more than just selling—it’s about creating genuine connections. That’s the word that resonates with me: connection. Through my work, I strive to help brands connect with their audience in meaningful, authentic ways. That’s the essence of what I want to share with the world through my brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want them to experience the true essence of the Dominican Republic—its beauty, its culture, and its warmth. Here’s how I’d plan a week full of unforgettable moments:
Day 1: A Taste of the City
We’d start with lunch at the Malecón, a beautiful coastal road where we can enjoy some fresh seafood with ocean views. Afterward, we’d take a long walk along the Malecón, feeling the ocean breeze and soaking in the lively atmosphere. We’d finish the day with a coffee at Café Santo Domingo, the heart of Dominican coffee culture, where we’d chat and enjoy the sunset over the city.
Day 2: A Day at the Beach
The next day would be all about relaxation, so we’d head to a nearby beach for a laid-back afternoon. White sand, crystal-clear waters, and just the two of us enjoying the peaceful vibe. We’d grab lunch at a local spot and feast on mangu, tostones, and fresh fish—typical Dominican food that’s full of flavor and heart.
Day 3-5: Exploring Samaná
One of my favorite places in the Dominican Republic is Samaná, and I’d make sure we spend a few days there. We’d take a road trip to explore its natural beauty, including a visit to El Salto del Limón, a breathtaking waterfall hidden in the lush jungle. We’d go whale watching if it’s the season or simply enjoy the serene beaches like Playa Rincón. The energy there is different—it’s calm, raw, and unforgettable.
Day 6: Immersing in Dominican Culture
We’d dedicate a day to exploring the rich history and culture of the Dominican Republic. A visit to the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo is a must. We’d walk through the cobblestone streets, visit historic sites like Alcázar de Colón and the Catedral Primada de América, and feel the deep history that shaped the country. For dinner, we’d enjoy some sancocho and other traditional dishes in a charming local restaurant.
Day 7: A Day to Remember
On our final day, we’d spend it doing something fun and relaxing. Maybe a boat trip to Isla Saona, where we’d have one last beach day, enjoying the turquoise waters and the serene island vibe. We’d end the trip with a casual evening back in the city, reminiscing about the week over a cocktail or two, feeling fulfilled and happy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to recognize God, who is at the center of my life and the guiding light in everything I do. He’s my constant source of strength and purpose. My parents, without a doubt, are my biggest inspiration. Their love, resilience, and dedication shaped me into the person I am today. As for a book, one that had a profound impact on me was Intelligence by OSHO. It’s not necessarily a book about creativity, but it taught me at a very young age that there isn’t just one answer to everything. Life offers many paths, and no matter which one you take, if you choose it with intention, it will lead you to your destination.
