Meet Esther Czyrski | Founder of Beading Buds

We had the good fortune of connecting with Esther Czyrski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Esther, why did you pursue a creative career?
As a child I loved doing crafts and I loved spending time with other people. When I was in high school and it was time to decide on what I would do as a career, I honestly had no idea. There was nothing that I was really interested in besides doing crafts and at that time it did not seem like an option. I decided to become a legal assistant. It was through this job that a coworker asked if I would come and do a birthday party for her daughter because she knew that I made jewellery. From that it just kept growing and growing until I was able to leave that job and pursue this business full-time. So I did not pursue an artistic career, it just happened, but I believe that things are meant to be and this job is what I am meant to be doing.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a jewellery making party business in the Toronto, Ontario area. We travel to schools, birthday parties, camps, and any other special occasion to provide jewelry making party entertainment. We have been in business for 16 years.
I am the most proud of creating a business that brings so much joy. Almost every day I hear “I can’t believe I made this, it looks like I bought it from a store.” That makes me so happy because I am helping children be creative, and discover the love of crafting and I am showing them that they can make beautiful things given the right tools.
The most important lesson that I have learned is that when you truly believe in something it will work out. So many people thought that it was a crazy idea when I left my full-time job to pursue my business full-time, but it was the best decision I ever made.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! The first place I would take them is to the town of Elora in the summer, we would have lunch at the Elora Mill and then go to the Elora Mill spa and then walk around the town and hike the trails. I would also take them to Niagara-on-the-lake for high tea, distillery district in Toronto for lunch and of course we would visit Niagara Falls and the CN tower because they are iconic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my husband. We created all of this together.
