We had the good fortune of connecting with Errin Guidry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Errin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
When I became a single parent, I was in a dark place. Listening to gospel music and comedy shows helped me to stay positive. Now I am passionate about giving that same joy and positivity to others who may be experiencing a trial of their own through my event management company ENOLIA LLC. My company was inspired by my belated sister Enolia who passed away at the early age of forty-eight years old. My trials have given me great management skills that make managing events a joy for me. I have also had the opportunity to connect with other like-minded business owners with the Young Black & N Business organization which has been very inspiring to me. I would like to encourage anyone who is having a difficult season to remember that this is temporary and the lessons are only preparing you for your purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I have been working in logistics for twenty years.  I started as a truck driver.  I am passionate about working with people and love to problem-solve.  I was eager to learn more, so I worked my way up in my logistics career. When I was promoted to assistant manager;  at the same time, I became a single parent of 3 daughters witch one of them had epilepsy.  My position at my job consisted of too much time with my daughters.  So, I decided to go back to truck driving, because I wanted to be able to spend more time with my kids. I am most proud of my daughters because all of them graduated high school.  One of my daughters graduated college with a bachelor’s in accounting at the age of twenty.  My middle daughter is going to college to be a nurse, and my youngest daughter is now going to college for culinary arts.  I have sacrificed all of my time, energy, and resources in order to provide a great education.  I got to where I am today by understanding my situation, and knowing what my target is.  I am dedicated and hardworking.  I make conscious efforts to always make improvements, and not be afraid to make mistakes and bet on myself.  It was not easy being a single parent of three daughters.  One of my kids had three types of epilepsy.  For nine years we fought with several doctors in order to figure out how we can help her have some type of normalcy.  Eventually, we found a doctor that could help her.  My daughter Liberti is a miracle because she has had two brain surgeries.  Liberti is now five years epilepsy free.  I experienced a lot of ups and downs, but I never gave up on my daughters.  For years I was only getting two to four of sleep a day.  I have got to where I am today because I put god first. I also have a very supportive family.  I was taught to never give up, and believe in your self regardless of the circumstances.  These are some of my principles. 1. Believe in God’s words and pray 2. Take care of myself before I take care of anyone else 3. Make time for family and always stay positive.
I want the world to know that regardless of where you come from, and if you’re not afraid to bet on yourself.  You can overcome any obstacle.  JUST BELIEVE
