Hi Emely, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am a medical aesthetics provider who is a Nurse Practitioner, a Registered Nurse, and a Respiratory Therapist. My entire working life, I have been in hospitals as an employee. I wanted to start my own business mostly for the autonomy it affords me. As a medical aesthetics provider, I like to take my time with clients. I like to educate my clients and build relationships with them, partnering with them to achieve their beauty goals. In the hospital and primary care setting, time constraints and pressures to maximize profit and productivity prevent me from being the provider I like to be.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Fairy ToxMother medical aesthetics is the name of my practice because I truly feel like aesthetics are magical and transformative. When you can present your best face to the world, it gives you confidence and you actually feel better when you look better. Beauty is power and beauty is currency in our world, I want to help my clients tap into their power and recognize their value. I offer comprehensive care and treatments that I have found to offer the best results for the money. Tox aka Botox, Xeomin, and Jeuveau for wrinkles, and lines, and to manipulate muscles of the face and neck to achieve greater symmetry. Hyaluronic acid filler aka Juvederm, Versa, Radiesse, and Belotero fills wrinkles and creases and adds volume to the face and neck to balance the face and give a rejuvenated appearance. PDO threads lift sagging skin and add volume to the area treated through the thread itself and through the collagen stimulation from the healing and reabsorption process by the body. TCA chemical peels transform skin texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines, pores, and hyperpigmentation such as age spots, freckles, and melasma as well as promote collagen and elastin production by the body resulting in tighter skin. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Carlsbad, CA area is beautiful. My favorite thing to do in my community is to walk barefoot on the beach at low tide, ideally at sunset. The sounds, the smells, the natural beauty, and connecting my skin with the earth bring me peace and nourishes my soul. Favorite area restaurants for breakfast: Cafe Topes and Swami’s Cafe. Lunch and dinner: Le Papagayo, Garcia’s, Local Tap House and Kitchen, Blue Water Grill, Rockin Baja Lobster, Le Citron, and the Rooftop Bar for 360-degree views of the coastline. We have many local breweries for beer tasting and wineries for wine tasting. We have great boutique shopping. One of the unique things about my community is that we are dog friendly, it’s something that people who visit me comment on, how many people are dining out and going to bars and breweries with their pets. The best thing about my community is that you can pretty much always get outside because we have consistently warm and dry weather.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my husband, Kenith Bolston, who has supported me through my educational journey to become a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and aesthetics provider. He has been my rock, my practice patient, and my aesthetics model whenever I needed him. I would like to thank my adult children. Sidney Duren, for helping me with marketing and social media and being an all-around great daughter. Cedric Duren, for being my financial advisor and helping with my business plan as well as being my self-appointed CFO and amazing son. I would like to thank my medical director for The Fairy ToxMother Inc., Dr. Stoimen Evtimov, for partnering with me in this venture. I would like to thank my preceptors from NP school: Vanessa Cordova, Nicole Frankle, and Katie DeLeon, all amazing Nurse Practitioners that taught me so much about being a great NP. I would also like to thank my friends for their encouragement along the way.
