Meet Dr. Syvanna Siew DACM, LAc | Doctor of East Asian Medicine

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Syvanna Siew DACM, LAc and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Syvanna, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Purnima Clinic empowers clients to show up fully in their lives. We recognize each client’s inherent wholeness and potential, affirming their experiences, and empowering them in their health journeys. Purnima, my Indian name, means “full,” “whole,” and “complete,” in Sanskrit. My fiancé, Dave, and I started Purnima because the medicine and tools we practice and teach changed both of our lives in meaningful ways. Whether it be listening to someone dealing with debilitating periods, struggles with fertility, or feeling seen in their relationships, we offer a unique space where people can come to feel seen and receive customized treatments rooted in Eastern medicine and intentional coaching. We strongly believe that when mothers, women, and girls are heard in their health journeys and supported in each season of their lives that our communities benefit deeply. We also believe that men, given a space to be vulnerable and safe, will show up in their highest integrity in their lives and communities as well. There is a ripple effect when the individual is seen and held in their wholeness and treated holistically. They show up with greater presence in their romantic partnerships, in their parental roles, in their career and community lives.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Purnima is an abode for transformation. Through a blend of root-cause medicine, holistic reproductive and facial rejuvenation treatments, and transformative coaching, Purnima empowers clients to show up fully in their lives. From reproductive and fertility acupuncture to cosmetic acupuncture and general wellness, we aim to harmonize your body’s natural rhythms, enhancing not just your health but your life’s quality. Through individual coaching or group sessions, we explore the depths of your intrapersonal dynamics, helping you forge meaningful connections and live in alignment with your values. There is immense power in being witnessed and heard by your doctor, your coach, and circle of peers. This is what creates meaningful change in an individual’s life. Our clinic opens in January 2024 in beautiful Encinitas along the 101. We are creating a collective membership where our clients and patients receive exclusive benefits. Through the Purnima Collective, clients enjoy custom weekly sessions, members-only pricing, and priority access to our offerings. Think of it like a subscription to deeper connection and holistic well-being.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This clinic embodies the abundant support, love, and inspiration I’ve received from my family, mentors, and teachers. To begin, my grandmothers, Molly Bansraj and Donna Siew, who emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago to the US, profoundly influenced me to understand, uplift, and compassionately support women in their challenges and triumphs. My parents who have been unwavering in their love, encouragement, and support, imparting the values I hold most dear. The Siddha Yoga swamis and the meditative practices they’ve introduced me to that have provided me with a profound sense of stillness and peace. My Lishansky family, who have held me with immense compassion and love. And Dave, my greatest love — the best is yet to come.
