We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Nima Enayati and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Nima, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business means more to me than anything else. I have this burning passion and desire to want to help people, and I think that was what I was put on this earth to do. I truly get joy out of people improving and making their lives better daily. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy working with the active adult community, I’m in a unique position where people are putting their trust in me to determine what the best path and outcome is going to be for them so they can return to the activities they love, whether that be golf, basketball, pickleball, or even playing with their kids and grandkids. This is something I will never take for granted, and am grateful to be able to do. I hope to continue to help people in my community and across the world find success in the right kind of injury rehabilitation and injury prevention in order to live a longer, healthier, and more active lifestyle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and my business is Tee It Up Physical Therapy & Wellness. I work with active adults, and athletes in the San Diego Community. Most of my clients are golfers, but I work with runners, tennis players, basketball players, and even pickleball players! My goal is to ultimately help people feel better, move better, and golf/play better! What sets me apart from others is my passion for injury recovery and injury prevention. I am constantly learning new information, and researching the best ways to help people recover and prevent injury. Although, getting here was not easy! I’ve had quite the journey. I am originally from the Bay Area in Northern California, and that is where I started my working career. However, I went to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, where I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy 7 years ago. Time flies! I started off working in a couple of different traditional outpatient PT clinics, before becoming a Clinic Director and starting a PT urgent care clinic from the ground up. I then moved into a cash-based physical therapy clinic, which focused on getting people who have been burned by other treatment methods back to the activities they love, and that is where my passion for starting my own business began. I’ve learned many lessons along the way, but the biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is to be patient, be myself, and be invested in the people I’m working with. This has naturally helped me grow to where I am today. In a world where insurance has its limitations and barriers, I ultimately want people to know that appropriate Physical Therapy care exists out there, and I as a small business owner, am the one that is truly invested in the health, wellness, and recovery of my clients. If I can help everyone, I would!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is where it gets fun! I’m a huge fan of San Diego, and I think it truly is the best city in the world! Some of my favorite places in the area are Powerhouse Park in Del Mar. That is a place where I go with my wife and Kylo, our Australian Shepherd and go for walks or eat at our favorite Persian restaurant, Seaside Grill. We would then have to go up to Carlsbad and walk along the coast. It’s a beautiful and scenic walk, and Carlsbad also has great shops and restaurants to check out as well! Then we would have to work our way back down south to visit La Jolla, Bird Rock, Mission Bay, and of course Coronado. One of our favorite things to do is try new, local coffee shops. I’m a coffee snob, so I like a good espresso or cup of cold brew! There are a few really good places in San Diego. Lovesong Coffee in North Park has a very cool vibe and unique drinks. Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, specifically the Encinitas location, has some of the best espresso tonics in town, and Superbloom Cafe is one of the coolest views with good lattes too!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of the most influential people in my life is my father. He is the most hard-working, caring, and trustworthy person I know on this planet, and without his guidance and support, I truly wouldn’t be where I am today. Funny enough, when I graduated Physical Therapy school, I would always say that I would never be a business owner. I was content in working in the clinic and helping people that way. On the opposite end of the coin, my dad is a business owner, and works extremely hard. This may have been why I wasn’t sure that was going to be my path as I saw how much time, energy, and effort was put into it. He never told me to do things his way, and always motivated me and trusted me to make the right decisions. Ultimately, I ended up becoming a business owner, and now rely on his guidance and mentorship to be successful, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I also want to make sure I recognize my wife, Naseem. She has been an incredible support system for me. Her patience, motivation, and support has pushed me to continue to do what I do. She takes care of all of the things that I am unable to take care of in order to keep the engine running, and she has been an incredible wife, friend, and teammate.
