We had the good fortune of connecting with Donna Logsdon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My love for interior design started when I had the privilege of designing my own new home many years ago, and it grew from there. Everyone loved what I did and wanted help with theirs. Then circumstances landed me in Charlotte, NC where I was faced with a new start. I was offered a good job with good pay but there was a tug inside that was pulling me toward my interior design path. I had a choice to make. What should I do? Play it safe and take the job? Or follow the tug and take the leap? I followed the tug and took the leap! I became connected with a woman who I designed 3 houses for and to this day we are still friends. Along the way I have taken many leaps like that, and I am so glad I have because they have been amazing jogs in my journey, and have definitely given my faith a chance to grow! Since then I have done homes throughout the United States and Canada. Then for several years I worked together with my colleague LeAnna in a design showroom at a fine furniture store. Together we helped many many clients design their homes. And our skills dovetailed so beautifully together that when the store closed we decided to start our own interior design business called D & L Design Duo. We are continuing doing what we do best, designing businesses and homes for clients, that are beautiful, comfortable, and functional. We do everything from flooring to paint to window coverings, from furnishings to accessories, as well as kitchen and bath remodels.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Because our business, D & L Design Duo, consists of two experienced designers, our clients receive double the attention, along with the added value of our combined abilities and skills. Together we can most effectively access and discuss the needs, tastes and styles of our client. After taking their project from concept to completion we know we’ve succeeded when our client says, ” It’s just like you got in my head and created exactly what I wanted!” We love what do, are excited about our business, and proud of what we have to offer our clients.

Taking a leap to start a business is not for the faint of heart. There are obstacles, setbacks and disappointments along the way. But God is on this adventure with us, and we have come to find out that it’s Him who directs our steps and forms the solid foundation of our business.

Along the way we have learned to be patient and understanding with our clients, and when a problem arises we listen and then collaborate with our client, vendor and contractor to work out a solution. Our motto is, “There’s always a way!”

We want the world to know that we are fun and relatable, and we offer the best of who we are to bring the best to you!
