We had the good fortune of connecting with Diane Polanco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diane, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal is to create a revolutionary system that generates wealth not only for me and my team but also for our clients and the creative communities we support. Through Editority, we plan to introduce a token-based economy where every creator receives tokens as part of their earnings. These tokens will act as a stake in our ecosystem, increasing in value as Editority grows. Creators can choose to reinvest these funds to produce more content, support other creators, or withdraw profits to fund their own dreams.

This model flips the current publishing paradigm on its head. Instead of profits being funneled to major corporations like KDP, our system ensures that the people powering the creative industry—the writers, artists, and everyday supporters—are the ones who benefit. It’s an ecosystem designed to build wealth for everyone involved while encouraging collaboration, creativity, and reinvestment into independent creators.

By the end of my career, I hope Editority will have reshaped the publishing world, proving that creativity and community can thrive together. Personally, I’ll be living my best homestead life with my children and pets, free from the pressures of hustle culture and able to fully enjoy the fruits of the system we’ve built.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Editority is more than just a publishing company—it’s a mission-driven platform designed to champion creativity, diversity, and opportunity. We stand apart by prioritizing non-censorship and creating spaces for marginalized voices and talents often overlooked due to prejudice or systemic barriers. In a world where apps and books are being banned and corporations dominate the narrative, we aim to restore power to creators, ensuring their stories are shared authentically and freely.

One of the most exciting ventures we’re working on is an indie-powered bookmobile, made possible by seeking innovative investment strategies, like crypto tokens, to reinvest profits directly into our creative community. This approach not only supports independent creators but also generates passive income for everyday people, challenging the outdated publishing models that funnel wealth to big corporations.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I’ve faced my share of challenges, including overcoming personal struggles with substance abuse and domestic violence. But it was in those moments of rebuilding that I rediscovered my love for books and writing—a passion I’d left behind. Partnering with Jitendra, who manages the technical backbone of our business, allowed me to focus on creating meaningful connections and growing Editority into a movement that inspires and uplifts.

The lessons I’ve learned are simple but profound: trust your intuition, embrace risks, and stay true to your mission, even in the face of resistance. Editority is a reflection of my belief that creativity connects us to our true essence and that supporting others in sharing their stories creates a more compassionate, empowered world.

What I want people to know is this: Editority is about more than publishing books—it’s about rewriting the narrative of who gets to create, whose voices matter, and how wealth and opportunity can be shared to benefit us all.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting San Diego, they’d know to prepare for an active, soul-nourishing adventure filled with fitness, wellness, and a touch of magic.

We’d start by grounding ourselves with the Earth at La Jolla Shores, taking in the ocean breeze and maybe even a meditative walk along the sand. For lunch, we’d head to Trilogy Sanctuary, one of my favorite vegan spots, where we’d indulge in fresh, organic bowls and smoothies while enjoying the rooftop vibes.

We’d kick it up a notch with a heated yoga class at YogaBox, hosted by one of my favorite instructors—there’s no better way to sweat out stress and reset our minds. Post-yoga, we’d fuel up at Yasai, San Diego’s fanciest vegan ramen and sushi spot. To wind down, we’d grab holistic, non-alcoholic drinks at Good News, a charming new bar.

For a little magic, we’d explore one of the many metaphysical shops around town, diving into crystals, tarot decks, and other witchy treasures. A tarot reading is a must, of course—it’s a ritual that always adds an extra layer of fun and introspection.

If we’re feeling adventurous, we’d take a mini road trip to Julian, where we’d stay overnight in a cozy cabin. Nestled in the mountains, this little escape would be perfect for stargazing, connecting with nature, and, if the vibe felt right, embarking on a psilocybin journey for some deeper spiritual exploration.

To close out the trip, we’d treat ourselves to a restorative spa day—San Diego has plenty of wellness retreats to choose from—followed by one last sunset dinner overlooking the ocean.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my partner, Jitendra, who handles the heavy lifting when it comes to the technical and computational aspects of our business. His dedication allows me to focus on the exciting side of things—building meaningful connections and exploring ventures that drive our growth, like seeking investors for an indie-powered bookmobile. Together, we make an unstoppable team!
