We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Rael and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destiny, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This sounds like being at a crossroads! I work with this a lot with my clients and have been in this position many times in my life. I encourage anyone wondering whether to keep going or not, to consider shifting the question from ‘giving up’ to staying in alignment with your values and connected the highest version of yourself. Take the time and use the ‘crossroads’ as an invitation to check in with the authenticity of your desires and vision. Check in with your body – what does each ‘path’ feel like inside. Trust that your body will inform you! If the path forward still resonates deeply within, aligns with your values and feels true to to you, it’s a clear sign to keep going. Celebrate that as it can be a powerful reminder and a testament to your dedication, persistence and commitment to personal growth and the journey.

On the other hand, if you sense that your vision or intention has evolved, or there’s a shift in your values, it becomes an opportunity to reassess, recalibrate and redirect. It’s not about ‘giving up’, it’s about acknowledging and being honest with what is happening within YOU, what you really want, where you want to go, who you are becoming etc… and that can change as you move through life. Or, life can change you and ultimately the direction you are heading. So I always encourage to check in with yourself, and give yourself permission to get that clarity so you can fulfill your highest good. It’s about staying true to the path that aligns with the person you aspire to become and making choices that reflect your authentic self. Ultimately, whatever the decision, it is a conscious and empowering choice guided by the principles that resonate with your truest self and DESTINY!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I moved out to Los Angeles (along with my brother Joseph) for music. We both had big visions for our lives and goals, and while we had individual dreams, we also sang together!

As I pursued my music career, I had successful “day” jobs in various industries from executive positions in fashion, makeup artistry, and the music business.

My life however, had a few bumps in the road; divorce, job loss, healing from childhood experiences. It launched me on a soul-searching quest. I dove deep into exploring higher truths and principles. I studied everything I could get my hands on around different philosophies, spiritual psychology, world religions, spirituality, metaphysical teachings, energy healing, wellness and holistic studies.

At the same time, I also felt a calling to serve and give back to the community. I became a mentor for the organization ‘Violence Intervention Program, a state-certified crisis counselor for a rape/domestic violence hotline, and a violence intervention specialist through ‘Peace Over Violence’. I became a member of the speakers bureau for RAINN (still am) where I spoke in schools and community events sharing my own personal story as well as being an advocate to bring awareness to sexual abuse.

And then my life turned upside down. My brother, Joseph suddenly passed away, January 8th, 2011 just two days after his 34th birthday . (Still hurts to say it out loud). It brought me to my knees.. That alone took me into a dark night of my soul of deep pain, despair and grief I have ever known. He was my best friend. It was the most significant loss of my life.

There wasn’t anything that could prepare or offer the support or knowledge other than that of my own grief, hardships, and process. I had to live through it myself.

It changed me. I have grown profoundly, inside out, and discovered purpose in my pain that transformed my life!

That led me to my life’s work where I’ve become a Certified Transformational Life Coach, a Grief Specialist and Trauma Informed Coach. In addition, I am a grief support leader for ‘Our House Grief Support Center’ here in Los Angeles.

Over the last six years, I have been honored to coach people all over the world, helping them navigate their way through their own life, losses, and everything in between. Whether through 1:1 private coaching, group programs, live events, and workshops. It has become my DESTINY to help others transform their lives, rediscover themselves, reconnect to their spirituality, find healing, hope, and purpose to go on and live fulfilling and soulful lives!

I just started singing again! In fact, I just became a part of the Agape Spiritual International Choir in Los Angeles. It is my way to sing for a higher purpose!

I’ve learned firsthand that life is an incredible teacher, presenting numerous chances for healing, growth, and self-discovery. Having lived through these experiences, my hope is to be a guide for others on their journeys. In my world, it’s not just a saying—it’s a truth I live by: Your Destiny is My Destiny!”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So many places! Definitely Malibu. Probably visit Paradise Cove or Malibu Farm, spend the day there. Then dinner at one of my favorite vegan spots – Crossroads or Gracias Madre. Or maybe even Nic’s on Beverly. For sure a morning hike at Fryman Canyon (I live in Studio City) it is close by. I have hiked there for over 20 years! After the hike, probably lunch by me somewhere at The Sportsmans Lodge (likely Tocaya). Then dinner maybe in Santa Monica. I usually always take guests that visit me for a drive to Laguna Beach!! It would be jam packed and lots of eating and drinking!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother, Joseph. I will always honor and shout his name to the rooftops. He passed away two days after his birthday, January 8th, 2011. It was the deepest pain I have ever felt and altered my life. Through my grief journey, it has led me to the work I do now, supporting others as they move through their life, challenges, grief and all.

It has been my commitment that anything I do going forward will be in honor of my brother. He is forever with me.
