We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Loza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Desiree, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I think the most important thing I have done as a parent is showing my children what a hard working mother, and father, looks like no matter what the circumstance. I want my sons to grow up knowing how strong their parents are, both physically and mentally. How much they have endured, but still had enough love to give them. How hard they fought just to give them the freedom of growing up in a heathy, fitness, environment and still having the energy to go on adventures during the weekends. I want them to see what a strong female and what a loving father can give them in life. I feel like we show them these things daily.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A lot of the times when it comes to fitness, you hear about coaches who do so little for their clients. They just give you the hardest work-out possible, no education and send you out of their session, limping, hoping they will come back. Then they will ask for payment like they did you a favor. We take an entirely different approach, one that should be normalized in the field but isn’t. We aim to educate our clients/ members on everything. We teach them proper form, we teach them the “why’s”, we teach them how to do things on their own, and more importantly- we teach them how to have a safe and healthy relationship with food. Why? because we actually care about their progress, we want our members and clients to have longevity in the fitness world and enjoy the process. We don’t give them workouts they cant handle, we don’t tell them to eat like a toddler, we dont make them rely on us forever. We educate and we give them the confidence they have been seeking. This, I believe, sets us far a part from (most) everyone else.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to my husband Ryan. I have gone through a lifetime of doubt, people telling me I can’t and me believing them. Never seeing what my potential was. Ryan was the one who told me I could, believed in me when I couldn’t do it for myself. He taught me how to take an idea- blend it with his dream and turn it into reality. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could be where I am today, absolutely none of it would have been possible without him by my side. Thank you for everything, this is only the beginning.
