We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniella Rushton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniella, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been creative and very early on discovered I had, not only a strong imagination, but also a flare in being able to express myself creatively. I studied at The London College of Fashion and later on in life took Acting classes. It wasn’t until 2017 though that my son, Bertie, challenged me to put my imagination to good use and write a book. The Panther Tales series was born. Finally, I feel I have found a home for my creativity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I get excited very easily! Daily, I find myself absorbed in my craft, writing. The world of writing though doesn’t consist of always tapping away on a pc or scratching away on a piece of paper with a pencil. It involves so much more. I can honestly say my world has opened since I began writing, suddenly into technicolour ! I take inspiration from everything and all around.
My brand encompasses Fantasy, Fairytales and Poetry and right now I am developing ‘Panther Prompts’ daily quotes.
My writing I would say is whimsy and leans towards classic storytelling. Highly imaginative, I am so enthused to share it .
What am I most proud of ? I would have to say, as my editor said when she first read The Panther Tales,
‘There is certainly nothing like this around!’
The Panther Tales encompasses the power of belief in storytelling.
Its been hard though, sticking to what the brand represents and not being swayed by how one thinks one should be as a writer these days. I have learnt many lessons and I am thankful for each and every one as they have carved my brand into what it is and represents today. I want the world to know that in The Panther Tales brand they will find escapism, hope, empowerment and belief.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My husband and I were recently in Encinitas. We loved the vibe. It was so creative, cool and hip ! He loved hiring the city scooters.
We stayed at the Inn at Moonlight Beach. Well worth a visit. A healing, restorative, wellness retreat that I would thoroughly recommend either with husbands or girlfriends. I guess my ideal day in Encinitas would consist of mindful meditation and prayers either on the balcony of the rooms or on the beach. Followed by a stroll to the meditation gardens hosted by the self-realization fellowship. I would certainly then be looking to absorb the local cuisine and visit the many vintage thrift shops.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love this ! How wonderful to be able to share our success. I couldn’t agree more! I would like to shoutout about a group of people in my life who collectively are called ‘Team Panther.’ They know exactly who they are and who, from very early on, supported and believed in me, encouraging me on my literary journey, when at times I had to dig deep to keep believing. They have given me thier time, thier honesty and their love. As a creative, you attract your tribe by your vibe. My success is theirs. The Panther Tales wouldn’t be what it is today without thier input.
