We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Palenchar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We care. Thats’s the simplest way of summing it up. We are a group of passionate people that want to make a difference with the service and experience we provide. This impacts every decision and every action and ultimately culminates in how we deliver our service.

We run beach volleyball events. Our staff is really a group of friends who love playing beach volleyball and enjoy helping others learn. We are social and fun loving people motivated by making a difference. This mindset has us put our players (customers) first. We don’t skimp on quality equipment and we have attention to detail with how our events are set up, organized, and delivered.

We build relationships and friendships with our players. We often get comments about how people are surprised we remember everyone’s names. It’s because we care. 🙂

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Life’s a Beach Volleyball Club is San Diego’s Happiest Beach Volleyball Club. We offer fun and social beach volleyball events for all players. Our mission is to make beach volleyball approachable for everyone no matter your age, gender, shape, size, color, political beliefs, or whatever else it is. If you have a positive attitude and energy, we have a place for you.

What sets us apart is our love and passion for the work we do. We really care about everyone that steps on the sand with us and are committed to creating a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where anyone can enjoy playing and/or learning the sport we love.

We are a young company and leverage technology to work smarter, more efficient, and deliver a better customer experience. We take immense pride in our community and our core values. We want to leave everyone who shows up happier and we want to improve our local and global community.

The road has not been easy, but it has been reasonably straightforward. Lots. Of. Hard. Work. We started very small and our efforts took some time to be rewarded. There was nothing sexy about it, just showing up consistently and staying committed. Over time, word spread and more and more people started to show up.

I am most proud that our business is a force of good. We make people happy and we are now in a position to start giving back to our community. We joined 1% for the planet to donate 1% of our revenue to charitable causes. We work with Vizer, a local company, to donate meals to the hungry in our community. And we have plans to launch programs for low income youths, clean up the beach and neighborhood, and more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course my friends are going to (and have gone) to at least one of our volleyball clinics to share in the fun. Other places I love to go are:

-Great restaurants: Ambrogio 15, Otre Mare, Taco Stand, Konito’s Cafe, Rocky’s… amongst others.
-Shout House, the most fun bar in San Diego.
-Torrey Pines / La Jolla Shores
-Live music wherever there is a good show.

I spend most of my days at the beach or the bay with friends playing volleyball and enjoying the good SD life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this story to my beach volleyball coach and mentor Emir Kavuzlu who set me on this course. I’d also like to acknowledge my business partner Joshua Daguman for his extraordinary efforts and talents in building our business and brand.
