We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Thank you for being interested in my journey. I appreciate the opportunity to share my point of view.
In my experience, I would say consistency is the most important factor behind success. And while I do mean consistency in purpose and goals, I specifically mean consistency daily. it is essential to consistently find the one thing you can do to move your goals forward. It might not be huge, and you might not see the results right away, but if you consistently plant the seed of growth when the time comes, it will flower.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our company, The Salon Chair Guys sell service and repair salon & barber furniture in the Southern California area. We also sell Biodegradable Salon Furniture Cleaners nationally through Amazon and several other industry partners.
Our mission is to educate beauty industry professionals on the Salon and Barber equipment they own or purchase. Assist in repair, maintenance, and/or replacement with quality furniture. Ultimately reducing the amount of Salon and Barber furniture discarded prematurely, with the goal of eliminating them from becoming beauty waste, ending up in landfills, and contributing to our industries’ environmental impact.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area of course I would take them directly to the beach, there are so many hidden beaches up the coast and so much fun to be had walking in the sand and having a great conversation.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a complicated question. But one I appreciate. You cannot get far without others helping you. It is essential to gather the experiences, wisdom, and mentorship of the more experienced to help guide your way as you go through life.
My vanilla answer would be the poem If by Kipling. It’s a compelling poem that, if memorized can definitely help you in your lowest moments.
That being said, in this particular moment in my life, I would like to take a note from Calvin Brodus and say I would like to thank myself. I don’t want to shout out myself because of any materialistic possessions or achievements but simply because it is very difficult not to quit when pursuing your goals, especially as an entrepreneur.
Almost daily, and sometimes multiple times daily, you want to give up, you don’t think people understand your vision, and you could doubt yourself and your product. But if you stay consistent, things will change, ideas will start to work, and you will be successful. Just make sure you define success and don’t let the world define success for you.
