We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
What does risk mean to me? It all boils down to faith! Do you BELIEVE in yourself? Do you BELIEVE in your purpose? I ask myself these questions and WIN or lose, at least I took my shot! Michael Jordan says a winner is just a loser that never gave up! I apply this philosophy to my life and opportunities are continuously born. I implore you to take the leap of faith! Let your intuition guide you. In 2017, I moved to California with $300 and a suitcase. You don’t know how strong you truly are until your tested. From almost being homeless to running my own cultivation company. If you would have told me a few years ago, what was in store for me, I wouldn’t have believed it. You got to use what you got, to get what you want! I’ll be the first to admit, it’s scary as hell but, you’ll be surprised at what we can accomplish with a little faith. We are born to adapt and not just that… to THRIVE! So many of us are stuck and afraid to step outside the norm. Risk is bold! In an up an coming industry like cannabis there’s no time to be stuck. They say the grass is greener on the other side. Well I’m a teach you how to grow your own! Risk is taking your mistakes, learning from them, and teaching the world how to be better! And this is the philosophy of From Seed to Smoke.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
From Seed to Smoke is dedicated to teaching the world to grow. Through our experiences, good and bad, we teach you how to cultivate cannabis in your own home. We make growing fun and easy to understand. From germination to cloning, learn step by step all the way to harvest. The growth process is such an amazing journey. The sky is the limit and just like plants we should continuously grow as well. When you’re feeling so low, there is only one direction you can go, up. When I was living in Florida, I felt like I was getting swallowed up like a swamp. To be honest, my whole world was falling apart. No job, no car, no home, no family I had lost it all. All I knew was, I needed change, big change. What started out as a joke, while venting, turned into my reality! I had never visited San Diego but everything was telling me to move there. So I did. I decided to move to California June 2017 and my life would never be the same. From couches to hostels to my first apartment, I was gaining traction and it felt so good. everything was starting to fall in place. Finally, I was starting to be confident and understand my willingness to succeed! Not only that but my purpose was starting to present itself. It just so happened in January 2018 cannabis became legal for recreational use in California. Dispensary’s were popping up all over. It felt like I was living a movie! Although I did have basic knowledge of cannabis, before I moved, I’d soon learn it was a new world of its own. I had so much more to learn. First of all, the quality of the flower was amazing. There was candies and cannabis drinks down to soaps and lotions. I never had such variety at my disposal. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Where I come from cannabis came with a lot of negative stereotypes. But here, I was free to explore with no judgement. It was simply accepted for the medicine it is! And little did I know this plant would save my life. December 2018 my grandmother had passed and it hit me hard. That same month I lost my job and was getting evicted from my apartment. My life was starting to spiral out of control again. I needed something to take my mind off all the stress and depression, fast. I came across some seeds I had found in this potent blue dream from the dispensary. Where I come from the motto was good trees have no stems or seeds. That’s because the low quality bud came riddled with seeds and sticks. Everyone would just throw the seeds away. But I couldn’t throw away these blessing. Good thing too cause I needed them now more than ever. Someone once said The seeds of today are the flowers of tomorrow! I was amazed how often I found seeds. I felt like the universe was telling me something. So I decided to save them and this was the perfect time. I Started doing research and I figured out how to build my own grow box. I used cardboard, aluminum foil, tape and a household lamp for lighting. Use what you got to get what you want. I was so fascinated about growing. The plant was beautiful and had so much character. I never grew plants before but it was one of those things that just clicked for me. Growing was all I could think about from morning to night. I started to even dream about it. I wanted to figured out an inexpensive way to organically grow. I was obsessed with learning more and more. I just felt like I had to share it with the world. So I decided to start a cultivation company. I believe that one day this whole country will Legalize cannabis and I wanted to be apart of that green rush! Through my years of growing I have found there is so much information scattered across the web it’s almost intimidating. I love to experiment and through my successes and failures I’ve found the most efficient ways to grow. I’ve learned to spot issues to keep your garden thriving. And provide tips to avoid wasting time and money. I love this journey and I want to help growers all over the world find the joys in cultivation. I am inspired to teach the world the best ways to grow and compile complete information in one convenient place. This is the soul of From Seed to Smoke.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the many reasons I love San Diego is there’s so much to do! Never a dull moment. From the Beaches to Downtown it’s so easy to host family and friends. I can’t wait to get my family from the east coast to visit. I am fortunate enough to have met some incredible people here who can make any occasion memorable! The energy is so magnetic its always a good time. Another great asset to this city is the people. What a vibe. When my family gets in town The first thing we would do is go on an early morning hike up potato chip mountain. Observe the beautiful landscape and we’d have to take the iconic chip photo. Then we would go to senor mangos for tortas and the best Mango smoothie I’ve ever had. It’s so refreshing! Finally we would ended up at Stone Brewery to reminisce over a ice cold beer. Through the week we would explore the great historical sites around the city. Making sure to go to places like Balboa park and Old town. We would go for a walk on the harbor and take a drive across the Coronado bridge. We would watch the beautiful sunsets from tranquil spots like sunset cliffs or mission beach. So much variety of music and entertainment in the San Diego night life. I would take them to my favorite comedy spot, The American Comedy co, for laughs. Soon after we’d find ourselves dancing the night away in Gaslamp district. They wouldn’t want to leave. It just takes one visit to fall in love with this city!
