Meet Dak Doug | Founder & Visionary

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dak Doug and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dak, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We have sold out all of our benefit concerts thus far, and the primary contributor to that success is our focus on community engagement. Bringing the community together and fostering its growth by giving back has always been our number one priority. We select a charity that is relevant to our community, and we bring in local vendors, artists, and musicians to fully harness the creative power of our local talent. We curate each event to be a unique and immersive experience so that we can all feel the healing power that lies at the intersection of music and community. This type of attention to detail builds a loyal fan base that allows the business to achieve success with every event.

What should our readers know about your business?
Bassyndicate is a grassroots EDM events organization company that puts together shows to highlight some of our favorite national touring artists while raising money for charity and supporting local talent. One of the things about this business that I’m so excited about is the transformative, healing power that organizing these types of events can have on people. The moment when it all comes together and people are thanking you and your crew for the best night of their lives is unmatched. Knowing that we have the power to share this with others and give back to our community at the same time is very rewarding.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego is very similar to my hometown of Virginia Beach in that there are very distinct neighborhoods. In Hampton Roads, they are each independent cities, but San Diego is more of a conglomerate city. Being from the beach, the first place I would show them is the beach. Probably spend one day up north in Encinitas to enjoy the peace, then head down to Pacific Beach to show them the beach party, then off to Ocean Beach for more of a beach locals vibe. I’m a huge fan of the nature along the beach as well, so I’d probably take them to Sunset Cliffs and Torrey Pines. It’s also great to show off the nicest areas of San Diego, like La Jolla, Gaslamp, and Coronado. You honestly need more than a week to fully experience San Diego, but that would be a good start.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The term “syndicate” means a group of individuals gathered to promote a common cause. With that being said, Bassyndicate was always about recognizing that we can’t do it alone and understanding that the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. We have an entire team dedicated to making sure each event is going to be special. That team has been built over the past 5 years and spreads from the east to the west coast. They have dedicated countless hours purely for the love and appreciation of music to get this brand where it is today. Also, I would like to give a shoutout to my father, who always knew how to have a good time and supported me pursuing my dreams <3
