We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Wann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Craig, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It’s been a long-time dream of mine to run an agency. I wanted to use my skills and experience to create a business that not only provided valuable services to clients, but also made a positive impact. The idea of being able to make a difference in the world while doing something I am passionate about, was the push that motivated me to start CodeZone.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
CodeZone is a full-service web development agency that focuses on writing clean and elegant code. We specialize in building websites and apps that make a difference in the world. One of the things that sets us apart from others is our commitment to creating high-quality products that not only look great, but also serve a purpose.
I am extremely proud of the team that I have built at CodeZone. I have the pleasure of working with some of the most creative and genuine people in the industry. They make it all worth it, and I couldn’t do it without them. Agency work can be stressful and challenging, but my team is always in the trenches with me, working together to build cool things.
It wasn’t always easy starting my own business. There were a lot of challenges to overcome, such as building a team, acquiring clients, and managing finances. I learned that the key to success is to stay focused on your goals, to be willing to adapt and evolve, and to surround yourself with a supportive team.
CodeZone is more than just a web development agency, it’s a team of passionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in the world through their work. I am extremely proud of the work we do and the impact we have on our clients and their audiences.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Tulsa for a week, I would definitely take them to DoubleShot. It’s a two-story coffee shop located in downtown Tulsa that serves delicious coffee and has a great atmosphere. I love to work remotely whenever I am near downtown.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to Malala Fund (malala.org) for being my first major client and for their mentorship and support in the early stages of my business journey. They trusted me when I was still a freelancer with a day job, working for them after hours. Their belief in me and my abilities gave me the confidence to pursue my dream of starting my own agency. Their mentorship and support helped me to establish a solid foundation.
Working with Malala Fund has allowed me to align my business mission with a greater purpose and make a difference in the lives of girls around the world. The work that they do in providing education and equal opportunities for girls is truly inspiring and I am honored to have been a part of it. I am proud of the impact we have been able to make together and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with such a remarkable organization.
