Meet Christopher Rhoades | Artist/Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Rhoades and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up, I have always had a passion for art. I doodled often in school, colored and drew at home, and fell in love with urban style/ graffiti artwork around the neighborhood. As I got older, I continued art as a hobby. I also developed a fascination with vehicles; specifically mini trucks. Around the same time, I met my wife and we started a family. My trucking dreams were put on hold, but in my spare time I continued with my artwork. Eventually, I got a job in a customer service position. I continued doodling at my desk until my superior switched me into the art and fabrication department. I learned the ropes on all things fabrication related and slowly learned how to create digital artwork. Through the years, I had various graphic designer jobs; creating mostly logos for companies. After our last child was born, my wife and I decided it was time for me to pursue my art dream. I missed the trucking scene and started making vehicle renderings and logos for vehicles. My love of artwork and vehicles for my whole life has led me to making a career out of my dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The road to graphic design was not easy. It has been full of challenges. But for every challenge I face, I use it as a lesson to continue growing within my artistic abilities. I am able to mix my love of art and vehicles to create unique renderings and other artwork to satisfy my clients wants and needs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d definitely have to hit a Los Angeles Kings game (GKG)! or maybe a Dodgers game at Chavez Ravine, Disneyland is always an amazing option. Have always loved Main Street in HB on a Friday night, grab some shrimp tacos and a couple beers maybe see a local punk band.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be able to follow this dream without my clients. Everyone who has ever purchased my artwork, liked, shared or commented…thank you! Most importantly My wife Lauren and our 3 beautiful children, Brayden, Denver and Lyanna. I also have an amazing supporting cast of friends who push me to strive for excellence.. Donvan Ariaza, Brian Goude, Ryan Maher, Jonathan Larson, Thomas Soto, Loren Burton, Doug Johnson, Dick Cruz and my ENTIRE No Regrets family!
Also RIP Ernie Macias, I wish you were here on the ride with me brother.
