We had the good fortune of connecting with Christophe & Heather Willm of Willmus Weddings, one of the top-rated wedding planners in San Diego and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our work goes far beyond capturing beautiful images — it begins long before the wedding day. What truly sets us apart is that we organize every event from start to finish, which means we get to really know our couples. By the time we’re behind the camera, we’ve already built trust, connection, and a shared vision.

We got to where we are today because we’ve grown — not just professionally, but as partners in life and work. As a husband and wife team, this journey wasn’t always easy. There were challenges, different ways of seeing things, and moments we had to figure out how to move forward together. But by trusting each other and leaning into our differences, we discovered that we don’t just work well together — we’re better together.

The greatest lesson we’ve learned is that our individual strengths don’t clash — they complement. And that balance is at the heart of the work we create: deeply intentional, beautifully personal, and always done with heart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For an unforgettable week in San Diego with our best friend, we would start with scenic hikes in Torrey Pines reserve followed by beach days and boardwalk fun in Pacific and Mission Beach. Dive into culture at Balboa Park, then enjoy upscale dining and nightlife in Little Italy. Take a chill day trip to Encinitas or Carlsbad for surf vibes, then explore murals and tacos in Barrio Logan before ferrying to Coronado for sunset drinks. Escape to the mountains in Julian for a slice of pie and a nature fix, then wrap up with a Sunday brewery crawl at Hopnonymous Brewery, brunch at Le Parfait Paris, and dancing hopefully at one of San Diego’s electronic festivals. San Diego’s mix of laid-back charm, coastal beauty, and vibrant culture makes it the perfect host for a legendary week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Alan Su, the property manager at Dragonpoint Villa, whose trust and support played a meaningful role in our early journey as wedding planners. Entrusting us with the opportunity to plan and execute weddings at such a beautiful and unique venue not only gave us the confidence to grow but also allowed us to create memorable experiences for our couples from the very beginning. His openness and belief in our vision were instrumental in helping us establish our presence in the industry.
