Meet Christian Merida | Guitarist and Lead singer of SUEÑOS

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Merida and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, what inspires you?
I’m very inspired by latino artists. I listened to a lot of rock en espanol growing up. Bands like Caifanes, Los Prisioneros, and La Union. I guess you can say kind of inspired the name for the band as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I work in the cannabis industry. Been working in the cannabis industry for about 5 years. If working in the cannabis has taught me anything is to endure. From being illegal to legal now is something the industry has really fought for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Im from Orange County so its always cool to catch a show at Chain Reaction or the Observatory. If youre looking for a good eat go to 4th street in Santa Ana and you’ll literally find anything there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people to thank for our success so far. First thanks would have to be to someone who is like a sister to me, Megan Terrazas. If it wasnt for this individual I would have never met Christian from Closed Tear. Who also has really helped Sueños play some pretty cool shows as well. Shouts out to Betamax Records too for putting out our first EP on vinyl. To my girlfriend Vanessa who pushes me to be the best version of myself. And lastly to anyone who has came out to a show, listened to the EP, it means everything.
