We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassie Moronez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Growing up, I was a bit of a perfectionist. When I started performing in middle school all the way up to high school, I was obsessed with perfecting performing, reading on different acting methods, reading plays from Shakespeare to exploring the world of musical theatre. So failure was always at my door on each new venture I’d try in performance. My father has a saying that’s stayed with me for years about not letting failure rule your mind set. “I’m not perfect, but I try my hardest not to make mistakes.” I may not perfect all that I do in this lifetime especially in regards to performance or content creating, but I’ll try my hardest to be the best that I can at it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think a lot of my drive to start my own business, or creating my own content/branding myself, came from me wanting to create more opportunities for myself as an artist. I always find myself wanting to do more than just the minimum. I’m a working actress here in Los Angeles, so in between auditions and work I find myself sometimes impatient waiting for the next opportunity to find me. So I figure why not create those opportunities? I am where I am today by consistency and right place/right time really. I put myself out there with the mind set “Why not me?” and really that’s where I started to work with some amazing people on pretty cool projects. It wasn’t always easy and like I’ve mentioned, there had been days where I wanted to give up, but the thought of how far I’ve come truly motivates me to go get more out of life. I’ve learned a lot of lessons, some the hard way, about the do’s and don’ts about the industry. Which I think you don’t really learn unless you’ve lived them. Some, expect the unexpected and take EVERY opportunity you get thrown to you. You never know what you might get out of it. If there’s one thing I want the world to take away from my story, it’s that I always stayed true to my hearts and dreams of being able to tell stories; to make those feel moved with my existence really. Even if it’s just inspiring others to follow their dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Considering I’ve lived in multiple cities all over Los Angeles County out of the 5 years I’ve lived in SoCal, I feel like I’ve been to almost everywhere. Mainly because of the nature of my work (acting on sets all over Los Angeles) and my curiosity for new food joints here, I definitely would have an awesome week planned. The botanic gardens here in Los Angeles are beautiful truly. My two favorites being the Huntington Library and the South Coast Botanic Garden. The best times are on sunny days with a nice cool breeze while you get your walk all around the garden. You can bet that our day would include a trip to the nearest Rad Coffee to get one of their drinks off their seasonal menu or Zombie lemonade. They have the coolest spookiest inspired drinks. I like showing all (or as much as I can) of Los Angeles to anyone visiting so I’d take them skating on the skate path all down Long Beach past Bluff park, or maybe a visit to the Academy Museum of Motion Picture to show them some major history about the industry. Most of my favorite tacos spots definitely come from street vendors all around downtown Los Angeles so we’d be making a late night stop to those. Being in Los Angeles there’s always something to do especially with all the pop-ups happening. Maybe a little trip to the Blockbuster bar or a spooky market? Sounds like a perfect week to me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, my family, husband, and best friend I owe everything to. At my lowest of lows, I could always see their light shine on my path. They always been there cheering me on consistently and that makes all the difference. The industry is a cold dark place at times and you consistently question yourself on continuing most days with all the dedication you have to put towards it. Hyper fixating on all the little things can sometimes really weigh on me, but it’s truly been all of them reminding me about the big picture by celebrating every milestone big AND small. I dedicate all that I do to them for sure.
