We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolyn Naples and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolyn, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important thing that being a real estate agent has taught me is that what you hold in mind will expand. If you’re critical of your lead generation efforts and are doubtful that they’ll generate a return, then they probably won’t. But if you hold in mind that, although you’re not seeing instant gratification from your efforts, you’re passionately doing the work, you most definitely will see results. It’s simple, but powerful. This shift in mindset has changed my life and the way I think. Mindset is a very powerful thing, and surprisingly, what you hold in mind quickly becomes your reality. A negative mindset is harmful to most situations, but especially to a career in sales. A shift in mindset is such a simple thing but brings about the most extraordinary outcomes. “If you believe it will work out, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you’ll see obstacles.” Your energy drives your world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Carolyn Naples and I am a real estate agent representing the beautiful county of San Diego, California. As a fresh finance graduate from San Diego State University, I chose something that not many in my graduating class did. I’d describe myself as outgoing, talkative, wanting to be seen and heard, wanting to make some sort of difference, and most importantly not wanting to sit at a desk – all things that aren’t so typical of a finance major.

I joined my brokerage and its number one producing team at 22 years old. After applying to countless finance and real estate firms, I heard back from just one. I got called in for an interview, was introduced to the team (The Enriquez Group), and was hired on the spot. From that moment on, it’s been constant learning, growing, and picking myself up after falling down. During this I learned (and am still learning) that you should not be scared to fail, but instead to fear not trying at all. After a certain amount of “no’s” you are bound to get a “yes.”

Hard work, dedication, and perfectionism are my strong suits. I work tirelessly to ensure that my clients are happy and close their transactions with 100% trust and satisfaction in me and my team. What sets me apart as an agent is my attention to detail and my prompt nature of doing business. I am personable and care about my clients both professionally and as friends. It is with pleasure that I get to guide people through transactions that are life changing for them.

I am most excited for continuing on the path upwards each and every day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, San Diego is definitely the place to be! When friends visit, I always recommend Cesarina in Ocean Beach for lunch. If we’re going for something more casual, a sandwich from the local deli (PB Market & Deli is the best) and a picnic by the Pacific Beach pier will do the trick. Sunset beach walks are always on the itinerary, and dinner at Seneca in downtown is a must to experience delicious pasta and espresso martinis. After dinner, a night out at Nova SD, arguably the best club in San Diego, would top off the night. Throughout the week, a casual brunch at Palmy’s Cafe in Pacific Beach and a workout at Spark Cycle in Liberty Station would complete the experience!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success in this career is a product of a couple amazing influences. My mentor and coach, Vinnie Enriquez, has helped me tremendously in growing into the agent that I am today, and I still have so much more to learn from him. Additionally, I have to dedicate the mindset that changed who I am for the better to “Attached” and “Letting Go,” two books that forever shifted my perspective on life.
