We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Vukadinovich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My writings and interviews serve to educate and enlighten the public of unfairness and corruption issues in the state and federal judiciaries which are in dire need of judicial reforms for a meaningful system available to the public to not only simply submit judicial misconduct complaints against rogue judges which are routinely dismissed as a matter of course, but a system that includes members of the public to sit on oversight boards with authority to dispense appropriate disciplinary actions against miscreant judges —the current system consisting of only brethren judges reviewing misconduct complaints against their own needs to be abolished and replaced with a more honest and equitable system. My writings and interviews also serve to educate and enlighten the public as to police corruption issues with rogue police who perpetrate harm to innocent people for which there is a need for police reforms such as the elimination of qualified immunity. In my writings and interviews I discuss many topics of police corruption issues and judicial corruption issues that the mainstream media is afraid to report on. There is a great deal of inappropriate deference by the mainstream media particularly to issues of judicial corruption where the mainstream media chooses to remain silent even in instances when it knows there are certain acts of corruption going on with judges. My writings and interviews helps the community, nation, and world understand the significance of the problems with police corruption and judicial corruption in the United States and the need for appropriate and necessary reforms. Because the mainstream media is afraid to report on these influential institutions and protects these institutions by concealing serious issues of nefariousness within each, my writings and interviews inform and educate the public of just how nefarious things are going on in each of these institutions against the people, of which information that I provide benefits the public and fills the void of the mainstream media that is missing in action in terms of reporting on the inner workings of judicial and police corruption —especially judicial corruption.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I went to college and earned my B.S. and M.S. degrees in education and I went on to become a teacher and high school and college basketball coach which was a life long dream of mine. But after the ordeal I went through in defending against several retaliatory false arrests which began after I was falsely arrested and brutalized by Valparaiso, Indiana police in 1981, and then kept going on in retaliation for my successfully standing up to the rogue police, I lost teaching and coaching opportunities because of the stigma from the false arrests. In March 2016 I represented myself in a five day federal jury trial after my public school corporation employer wrongfully dismissed me from my teaching job after eight years of excellent evaluations of my work, and I was able to beat the corporation’s team of unsavory lawyers at the trial as the jury determined that the school corporation denied my due process rights when it took my job away from me and awarded me significant damages of over six figures. The verdict became national news as it is virtually unheard of for a person to win a federal civil rights jury trial by representing himself without a lawyer. After winning the federal jury trial I was asked to speak to a Yale Law School class which I did in September 2018, and I was invited to appear on Pro Se Nation Television” based in Princeton, New Jersey where the program was titled “Pro Se Litigant Brian Vukadinovich Wins in Federal Court”. I have written two books “Motion for Justice: I Rest My Case” and “Rogues in Black Robes” which are on the shelves of several public libraries in different states and also on the shelves of several prominent law school libraries such as Harvard, Yale and University of Syracuse law schools, and also abroad on the shelves of libraries in the United Kingdom, Japan and Israel. I am proud that my book “Motion for Justice: I Rest My Case” was selected for me to do a book signing in El Paso, Texas which I did in September 2019 as a benefit for the #ElPasoStrong campaign after the horrible shooting massacre at the El Paso Walmart in 2019. I am also proud that I was asked to be a presenter at the 2022 Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration event hosted by the Indiana University Social Justice Conference where my presentation was titled “Standing Up for One’s Civil Rights with Brian Vukadinovich”. I have also done numerous radio and podcast interviews including a podcast interview out of Great Britain where we discussed the problems with corruptions in the British and American judiciaries. In March 2024 I was invited to speak at the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, Indiana about my story and my books. After winning the federal jury trial, a well known federal court of appeals judge who had just retired from the bench, Richard Posner, heard about how I was able to win the federal jury trial by representing myself without a lawyer and contacted me and asked me to work for him in his newly created “Posner Center of Justice for Pro Se’s” which was based in Chicago, Illinois. He appointed me as the executive director of the Posner Center and then reneged on our contract and refused to pay me for my work. I had to sue him for breach of contract and the case is currently in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. Before I filed the lawsuit against Posner I gave him fair opportunity to pay me for the work I did for him so the lawsuit could be avoided, but then his lawyer from Chicago sent me a letter and stated that Posner had a mental problem and “…did not have the legal capacity to enter into contracts in 2018.” and after I filed the lawsuit Posner’s lawyers asserted “Incapacity” as a defense stating that Posner “lacked capacity to form a binding contract.” and that Posner “lacked mental capacity to do so” which were sham defenses because Posner was quite active in doing interviews, running the Posner Center, writing books, and working as a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago law School, and even taking on a new job as an advisor to Legalist in 2019 and was involved in a federal appeal in 2019. And after I shot down those bogus defenses, the district court went out of its way to cover for Posner, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago is now covering for him as well, so needless to say, I am currently fighting the corruptions that are taking place in the case by Posner’s lawyers and the judges. The proceedings are so tainted that one of Posner’s lawyers wrote a letter to a magistrate judge and asked the court for “help” and “assistance” to “put the case to a swift end.” The letter was entirely inappropriate as lawyers are not supposed to be asking courts for “help” and assistance” as courts are supposed to be neutral and are not supposed to be providing “help” and “assistance” to parties on either side of a case including, and especially, parties who have personal connections to the court to help put cases “to a swift end”. I am currently addressing several improprieties and corrupt actions by certain federal judges in the case. What they have been doing to wrongfully protect Posner stinks to high heaven. The nefariousness that has taken place by the judiciary in protecting Posner is mind boggling. It is extremely difficult to obtain justice and get a fair shake in the courts when the case involves a retired federal judge who reneged on the contract and then hired several lawyers in three different states who have filed bogus legal arguments to no end, and much more difficult when judges are so willing to go out of their way to protect the former federal judge to the point of ignoring controlling precedents and even their own court rules. And that is exactly what has been happening. The mainstream media knows that the federal district court and federal appellate court are both concealing information from the public by way of a document that has been sealed of which sealed document contains information that the public is entitled to know about Posner regarding his unfitness to serve as a judge and also contains information that raises a question of possible criminal conduct on the part of the former judge —but the mainstream media is afraid to report on it. But I intend to vigorously represent myself notwithstanding the corrupt obstacles that are in the way. My goal is to obtain justice from the former judge’s breach of contract in refusing to pay me for the work I did for him, and also to expose the corruptions that have taken place with the opposing lawyers and judges who are acting in concert to sweep things under the rug in order that the public will not know how corrupt things have been in the case by the lawyers and the judges. It is a classic case of cover up. To say that the case has been tainted would be an understatement. The lawyers and the judges are worried because they well know that I will not back down and that I will expose the corruptions that have taken place in the case. My books and my public speaking engagements are important as they serve to educate the public as to how unfair and corrupt things are in the state and federal judiciaries as there is a serious problem in the country with judges routinely bending over backwards to deprive the people of fairness and justice in their claims against government agencies, corporations, and persons of influence. It is very important for the country and the world to know that there is a very serious need for substantial police reforms such as the elimination of qualified immunity for rogue police, and a very serious need for judicial reforms in order to put corrupt judges in check in order that the people can have a fair shake in their quests for justice. There is too much secrecy in the courts and that needs to stop in favor of complete transparency available to the public in terms of what the courts are doing behind closed doors, and a meaningful system put in place to instill a measure of accountability to deal with dishonest rogue judges. There can be no question that what is taking place by the federal judiciary’s nefarious protectionism in favor of former federal court of appeals judge Richard Posner in my breach of contract case against him will be the lightning rod that will serve to shine the spotlight on just how corrupt the federal judiciary is and why we as a country are in dire need of serious judicial reforms in order to have a truly honest and reputable judiciary —it is a long time in coming. As the late-great civil rights activist Ida B. Wells famously said “The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I am in a rural area in Indiana with not a lot going on, I would take my best friend or friends to Chicago to visit the various neighborhoods such as the neighborhood I grew up in on the north side of Chicago, Wicker Park, that was a wonderful melting pot of a blend of various nationalities which was a great neighborhood to grow up in with the various ethnicities. Because of the very unfortunate things that are taking place as of late with our current government’s attacks on immigrants, it is very important for people to visit ethnic neighborhoods and patronize their businesses and see for themselves just how wonderful the immigrants are and how the immigrants enrichen our lives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dear late mother, Vera, and my dear brother, Branko, both of whom stood firmly side by side with me in my fight for justice that began in 1981 when I was falsely arrested by Valparaiso, Indiana police in a case of mistaken identity when I walked into a bank with my mother in Valparaiso and the Valparaiso police showed up and brutalized me and falsely arrested me on a bogus charge after realizing that I was not the person they were looking for. A trial was held and a judge found me not guilty and chastised the Valparaiso, Indiana police for what they did, and after I filed a lawsuit for false arrest and police brutality, and was awarded a settlement, the nightmare began as the Valparaiso police retaliated by falsely arresting me seven more times afterwards and additionally encouraged other regional police agencies to do the same. It was a classic case of police conspiracy that was well documented even with letters that were written by Valparaiso and Porter County, Indiana police officials to other regional police agencies in their unsavory quest to have my freedom unjustly taken from me because I successfully stood up for my rights in each and every one of their false arrests and bogus charges. It was quite a costly ordeal to me not only financially in defending against all of the bogus charges, but in terms of my livelihood as well as the ongoing retaliations did a lot of damage to my reputation and cost me teaching jobs which was my livelihood. Had it not been for the support I received from my mother, Vera, and my brother, Branko, I wouldn’t have been able to successfully fight back as I did. My strength to be able to fight back and defeat the evilness of what the out of control rogue police were doing to me came from my mother and brother. It was especially hard on my mother, but I received a lot of my strength from her which went a long way in successfully fighting back against the unruly activities of the rogue police and their demented plan to take me down. It was quite a lengthy ordeal, but I was able to mow them down one by one in the various court cases.
