Meet Bill Prinzivalli | CEO, Author, Speaker, Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bill Prinzivalli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bill, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I never intended to have my own business. My original goal out of college was to get a good paying engineering job, move up within the company, build a solid 401K, and retire comfortably. But life had a different plan for me! I was managing a team of computer programmers when we all got laid off. The opportunity that came to me was to be an independent rep in the NY area for two software development companies. That process continued to grow until I bought one of those companies. I was now the CEO of a real software development company:-)

What should our readers know about your business?
I was very proud to have built a successful software company. Starting in my basement alone, it grew to 50 employees, 19 international distributors, and annual revenues of $10 million. During that 15-year period, I endeavored to treat all stakeholders with respect and collaboration. That respect and kindness was fully returned to me during the company’s decline. I got through that difficult period with vulnerability, acceptance, respect, perspective, and faith. That phase of my life was about financial success and stability.
My business life now is guided by my deeper, intuitive, inner self. I am now pursuing my life-long mission to bring greater consciousness to the business world. Unsure how that will manifest, I follow the energy that my inner intuition sees. As such, I am coaching executives, giving experiential workshops, doing keynotes, directing a non-profit organization, meeting people involved with women’s organizations, and more. I follow the energy and seek the flow. That appears far wiser than all my previous plans.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would spend the first day connecting with him – catching up, sharing life updates, taking a walk while talking, having a quiet lunch at home, a nice dinner locally. We would then discuss several options that I’ve researched. At home, we would shoot pool, play music (drums), watch a good movie. Out, they would include some sports, e.g., golf and/or tennis, going into the city to hear jazz, visiting our old neighborhood, visiting mutual friends we haven’t seen in years, and several additional ventures in the city (NY). There are so many options, but we would play it by ear based on our rhythm.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
