We had the good fortune of connecting with Biany Amoncio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Biany, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habits that help me succeed were maintain a routine, limit distractions, manage stress, writing out what I need to prioritize, and finding time for yourself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The style of work that I create shows off the beauty of the scenery, the passion that people have for the their brand when I work with a brand, and shows off the beauty of the subject that I am doing a portrait for. The work that I do is different from other creators because every photo or video I do has a unique touch to it and plus every photo and video that I make isn’t towards other people liking it, its for me to like and show off what I love in my photos or videos. I am most proud being able to show off my work to people around the world and having them view it and having my photos and videos put a smile on peoples faces. Honestly it wasn’t easy nothing in life is easy you gotta overcome them like knowing your own style and work in your photos and video so you aren’t copying any other creators. It takes time finding your own style and work, from sitting down editing photos and videos, sometimes staying up all night editing for me that when I found myself to be creative. Lessons that I’ve learned throughout my career is never take a bad comment to the heart because every one bad comment out there, there is many good ones. It’s always good to get feedback from other creators on your work. Never burn yourself out, always find time for yourself. NEVER GIVE UP ON WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO!! I want the world to know about me and my story is that anyone can do it no matter what situation you are in. It takes patients to get where you wanna be in life. The highs and the lows in my life has made me into the man that I am now, without it I wouldn’t have learned anything in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had my best friend come through town for the week, I would take him or her to every best breakfast spots in San Diego every morning. The places are Morning glory, farmers table, hash house a go-go, snooze, breakfast republic, the mission, and breakfast & bubbles. Then after breakfast I would take my best friend to Balboa park because that place has many museums to explore and many things to do, seaward, San Diego zoo, navy ship museum, farmers market, petco park and the boardwalk. After taking a stroll through San Diego for lunch I would bring them to crack shack, friendly tavern, the friendly, underbelly, tacos el gordo, Bub’s, the holding company, el Dona, swami’s, and king and queen cantina. Then for dinner and drinks I would take them to el prez, pb shore club, waterbar, polite provision, the holding company, ironside, craft and commerce, cowboy star, born and raised, barbusa, and cloak and petal.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I have 3 shoutouts that help me get to where I am now in life. The 3 shoutouts go out to my family, Rory Kramer for making a quote that I live by everyday ( Fear is only skin deep ), and last Mark Manson for creating a phenomenal book called the subtle art of not giving a fuck. Family because my parents and my sister have been supportive throughout my career, from me moving out of Hawaii with my sister to move to San Diego with just only $5000 in my bank, parents encouraging me to stick it out in San Diego no matter what the situation was. Also helping when help wasn’t needed. Thats why I can’t thank my parents and sister enough for the support they have on me. Then Rory Kramer making a quote that I live by everyday ( Fear is only skin deep ). How this quote impacted me was when I was scrolling through instagram and I came across a post that was posted by a company called ikonick. So when I seen that post there was a canvas art piece that hanged up on the wall and that piece had Rory swimming up from the bottom of the ocean and across the canvas it said “Fear is only skin deep”. Once I seen that and read the quote I was like damn that’s true, so then after that I went down to the description box of the post and it said ” Don’t be afraid; be thoughtful. Everyone feels fear on the surface… take a step back and see it has no power over you”. Having that quote engraved in my head everyday, I wanted to have it be apart of my body so I got it tattooed on my forearm so everyday I can see it and know that don’t let fear overcome you and stop you from doing what you want in life. Then last and certainly Mark Manson the man that created one of my favorite book of all time “the subtle art of not giving a fuck”. This book talks about everything in life from your highs to your lows in life, it tells you how to get over them, from knowing who your real friends are, and also telling you what kind of people you wanna be surrounded with in life. I highly recommend this book to anyone.
