Meet Ben Sheehan | Chief Operating Officer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Sheehan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ben, what do you attribute your success to?
For me, the most important factor behind my success is grit — the ability to face challenges head-on, jump every hurdle, and keep going regardless of setbacks. I’ve learned that talent and timing matter, but it’s resilience and consistency that really separate those who dream from those who deliver. Whether it’s in my work, my personal projects, or representing others, I’ve always been able to adapt, refocus, and move forward. That mindset — to keep showing up, even when it’s tough — has been the real driver behind everything I’ve achieved so far.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It definitely wasn’t easy. I’ve always been a high achiever in school, but the traditional path never quite felt right for me. I made the decision to take a chance — I left college and dove into the world of start-ups. At the beginning, it was a huge adjustment: fast-paced, unpredictable, and very different from what I was used to. But I’ve learned that with consistency, curiosity, and hard work, you can grow into any role. Over time, the effort pays off.
I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve trusted my instincts and carved my own path. If there’s one lesson I’d share, it’s that success isn’t about taking the “safe” or “expected” route — it’s about finding what lights you up and being willing to learn, adapt, and keep going even when it’s hard.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I was showing my best friend around Galway for a week, I’d definitely want them to soak up the full Galway vibe — culture, arts, the language, and of course a proper Galway night out!
We’d start with a wander through the Latin Quarter, grabbing a coffee in Coffeewerk + Press and browsing the local shops and art galleries. I’d bring them out to Salthill for a walk along the Prom (you have to kick the wall!) and maybe even a dip in the sea at Blackrock.
During the week, we’d definitely catch some live traditional music — maybe in Tigh Neachtain or The Crane Bar — and explore the Galway City Museum to get a sense of the area’s history. If there’s a festival or arts event on (which there nearly always is in Galway), we’d be there! The Galway International Arts Festival in July is a personal favourite.
Food-wise, we’d hit Kai, Ard Bia, and maybe Loam for something special. And naturally, there’d be at least one big night out — start with drinks in the Quays, Monroe’s for live music, then see where the night takes us (probably dancing at Halo or a late bar).
For a bit of Gaeilge, I’d bring them to Club Áras na nGael — great fun and always a good crowd. All in all, Galway is about that unique mix of culture, craic, and community — I’d want my friend to leave with that spirit in their heart

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shoutout to two really important people in my life. First, my mom — for always being there to listen, support, and encourage me no matter what. Having someone you can always lean on makes such a difference. And second, to TJ — an incredible mentor who has really helped guide me on my learning journey. His advice, insights, and example have made a huge impact on how I approach challenges and opportunities
