Meet Ashleigh Moberg | Wedding Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashleigh Moberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashleigh, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first started my business, I initially just wanted a place to have a portfolio, where I could share the photos I’ve taken. I viewed my business as a hobby. Just a few short years after starting, my “hobby” turned into an actual business. Little did I know that would then turn into a career that would support my family and I for over 10 years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Photography, for me, is about connection and emotion—capturing the “perfect, imperfect” moments that feel real and timeless. What sets my work apart is my intentional, heartfelt approach. I focus on making clients feel comfortable and seen, so their true and unique selves shine through.
I’m most proud of the relationships I build with my couples. I’m more than just a photographer on the wedding day—I’m a calming presence, a guide, and a friend. That trust leads to genuine, meaningful images that represent them honestly.
Getting to this point came slowly. I started with a hand-me-down cameras as a young child and throughout high school and college practiced and slowly built my business while juggling other jobs and going to college full time. The challenges taught me resilience and the importance of a healthy balance.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s that your story matters. I’m here to preserve your memories honestly and artfully.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them the perfect mix of coastal charm, great food, and laid-back fun. We’d grab breakfast in Oceanside and get my favorite coffee cake of all time at Beach Break Café, followed by a fun round of mini putt or walk along the beach in Carlsbad. We’d explore Little Italy and eat at Barbusa for dinner. Another night we would wander through Old Town for margaritas and fresh tortillas. We would spend the day on Coronado Island walking the shops and soaking up the charm of the island. I would take them hiking at Torrey Pines and a day trip to Julian for pizza and pie. With a few spontaneous beach stops, sunset walks, hikes and good food, it’d be the kind of week you never want to end.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my husband Brian for believing in me. If it wasn’t for him and his push to take on weddings and go full time with photography, I wouldn’t have had the confidence and courage to do so. He has been my rock through all the ups and downs of owning a business and I am so grateful for him encouraging me to take the chance and has continued to support and uplift me throughout the years.
