We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariadna Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ariadna, how do you think about risk?
In my senior year of high school, I realized that taking risks was essential for advancing in my career, education, and life. Attending SDSU and earning my BA as a first-generation student has been both a risk and a challenge. In my household, no one understood the struggles of selecting classes, navigating internships, or applying for FAFSA. However, I’m deeply grateful for the people I’ve met along the way, who have shaped me in both positive and negative ways.

After graduation, I faced decisions and sacrifices that deviated from the conventional career path. In 2023, I embarked on my freelance journey as a social media manager for my hairstylist, @_jenbeauty. Since then, my business has expanded, and I now manage approximately five more clients. I also established my business account, @thatsoariiii_, on Instagram, where I showcase the work of my clients and personal projects. Had I not taken the leap of branching out on my own and fearlessly saying “yes,” I wouldn’t be where I am today.

While I acknowledge that I have much to learn, grow, and experience, what drives me forward is embracing the journey, surrounding myself with encouraging and supportive individuals, and eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
From shooting content to editing and designing, I’ve always been passionate about being both behind and in front of the camera! Considering how much joy and passion I feel when brainstorming ideas, editing videos, and receiving feedback, calling it a job never crossed my mind. Whether the projects are large or small, witnessing my clients’ reactions to their new videos or pictures fills me with immense satisfaction. Infusing positive energy and passion into my work is essential, as it ultimately reflects back, making the creative process meaningful. I adore what I do, and as long as I’m content with my work and know I’ve done my best, hearing positive feedback is the cherry on top. Starting my freelance business wasn’t easy, but recognizing others’ love for what I create inspired me to share my passion with a broader audience. While I face challenges now and anticipate more ahead, my supportive network, confidence, and determination assure me that I can surpass my goals.

One significant lesson I’ve learned is that everyone has their unique style—whether in editing, photography, or creative direction—and that’s perfectly fine. In a competitive industry, it’s easy to compare oneself to others, but ultimately, it’s about embracing individuality and making it your own. Though I’m still refining my style, I relish exploring new perspectives and approaches. Simply put, “my story” is about giving my all and fearlessly embracing new endeavors within a positive and driven environment. I aspire to inspire others and potentially serve as a mentor for those seeking motivation to pursue their passions and share what they love doing or creating.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a huge shoutout to my family, sisters, friends who have supported me throughout my journey. I’m also immensely grateful to my clients, who have welcomed me with open arms and entrusted me with their success through my creativity. A special shoutout to my first client, Jenny Lozano, whose kindness and support have played a pivotal role in the growth of my freelance business. Without her encouragement and positive affirmations, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also want to extend my thanks to my Little House of Flowers family, who introduced me to the marketing and social media industry and have been supporting me since my days as an intern. Along my path, numerous individuals have shown their support in various ways, both big and small, and for that, I will always be grateful.
