Meet Amy Meadows | Owner/CEO of Elite TC Pro – Virtual Services for Realtors

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Meadows and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I started my company I was working at all hours of the day and night. I didn’t schedule lunches with friends or family vacations because I felt like I had to focus on launching and growing. Eventually I decided enough was enough and I stopped getting up early and staying up late to work. I quickly realized that there was no real negative effect by slightly reducing my hours. I decided I needed to continue to work towards more flexibly by outsourcing as much as I could. I hired and trained an assistant who in now in a leadership role. She is amazing and allowed me to free up my time from “in the business tasks” to more “on the business tasks”. I have hired 3 more employee’s since then and continue to work my way towards ,my ideal work life balance. I am sure it will be a process for many years, if not for the rest of my working life. I am also a big proponent of my employee’s having the same in their lives.
As a business owner, it is very easy to slip back into tasks and things that don’t really require my attention. It is challenging to give up control and trust people but it is necessary! Nothing will ever be perfect and I have made bad hires along the way. But I am very much about progress over perfection and just trying things to see what works….and what doesn’t. I am now in a place that my kids and family life comes equal to, if not before, my business. I have dedicated work hours and use time blocking to make sure I am achieving what I need to during that time. I also schedule schedule schedule. If I commit to something on my calendar I make sure I honor that. I do often work weekends or after hours, but not usually in addition to my regular work hours. I balance that with taking time off during the day/week for things I feel are important. I also use quarterly goal plan (with the help of a business coach) which has been working very well. As a business owner it is so easy to let work take over and feel like you HAVE to control or manage everything. I am constantly thinking about balance and what I can do to improve it. I want to be present in my kids lives while having a thriving company that provides others the same flexibility . So far I have been able to manage that with a lot of hard work and dedication. But, also balance!!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got to this point with a lot of hard work and dedication. It has not been easy but it has been very much worth it…and I am not done! One of my biggest challenges has been having 3 children while navigating a growing business. I have learned that good help is priceless. You can’t do everything on your own and stepping back to take a look at what you can offload is necessary. I sit down to look at what I can change at least quarterly so that I can best manage my time and make sure my girls also have what they need at that time. You have to look at your schedule and think, unless it’s a HECK YES, it’s a no. I am still learning to say no to things that don’t serve me or my business best but being aware of that is the first step. Books and podcasts have been a great help along with my amazing business coach. This past year has been one with a lot of self reflection and trying to focus more on self care, This year I am implementing additional time off for each team member, it’s a win-win. They come back feeling refreshed and ready to go . We also push this for our clients! Real Estate can be a very stressful world and agents often feel like they have to work 24/7. We try to lighten that load as much as possible for them. Everyone deserves a good work life balance. Elite TC Pro is in position to be the leading California based transaction management company for Real Estate Agents. Our team culture is based on integrity and gratitude. Everything we do is to help build our agents grow their business the right way, while also being grateful for them and everything else in life. Every single client is important to us, whether they are closing 2 sales a year or 200. We provide the best experience for our Realtor and Broker clients and we are constantly working to further our services, for them. My company has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I am so proud of what my team has built and I can’t wait for the future will bring.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego has so much to offer. My ideal itinerary would be a drive down the coast, starting in Oceanside. Stopping for brunch in Encinitas or Solana Beach. There are TONS of amazing, locally owned, restaurants to explore there. I always try and eat and shop local if possible. Since I have 3 kids we tend to spend a lot of time at the amazing parks, Balboa, The Zoo, The Safari Park, Sea World and Legoland to name a few. Downtown and Little Italy are a must see. We like to take the harbor cruise around the bay and of course check out Coronado. By far, our favorite place is dog beach in Del Mar. We love to take our dog and catch the sunsets, especially in October/November.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My team! I couldn’t do it without them and I love and am grateful for each of their beautiful souls. Also my coach. Books I have loved; The 12 Week Year, Girl , Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing. I listen to Podcasts daily and love Rachel Hollis!
