We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has always been something I am known for. I am not afraid to fail and I think that mentality plays a huge role in how we run our small business. I like to view risks as a no-lose situation. If you succeed in your risk, then it pays off. And if you don’t, then there is a lesson to be learned. If you want it bad enough, you must be willing to take the risks that may cause you to second guess yourself, may cause you to lose some sleep, lose some friends, even. But in the end, when you have accomplished only something you were dreaming of, then there is no greater feeling.
I think overall, taking chances and putting myself and my business out there, has helped me gain an insight to the industry and create connections with those in my community that I wouldn’t be able to have otherwise. If there is a risk you are on the fence about. Take it. Do it.
What should our readers know about your business?
When I first opened up shop, I wasn’t sure which direction my brand would go in. I wanted the growth to be natural and for my brand to grow with my customers. I pride myself of the engagement and connections I make with my clients. I definitely will go out of my way to ensure the needs and expectations of my customers are met. But that is not where we differ from other brands. It is the sense of community that sets us apart. I have made countless friends through this short journey that I now consider family. I think it is so awesome and such an honor to bake for a baby shower and be liked so much, we keep in contact until babies first birthday, where I can bake for that event too. Long lasting relationships and seeing one another grow is what I want to set me apart.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Awesome part of the interview is to share the spotlight with other great entrepreneurs!
A huge platform that I would love to share is an app/Facebook group known as Shop My Porch.
It is created and tailored for small business owners to thrive in their own hyper-local communities.
The other small business owners on there deserve recognition as well as they are some of the most supportive people I have met.
I also would love to send some appreciation to my husband, for helping throughout the crazy holidays and keeping me sane through it all.
