We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda & Kristina Scinta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda & Kristina, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for our business came to life during a trip to Thailand, where my sister and I were visiting family in the countryside. With plenty of spare time to reflect, we found ourselves in conversation about the things we’re most passionate about—movement, wellness, and creative expression. One day, it just clicked: why not start creating our own grip socks? We had both fallen in love with practices like Pilates and Lagree, and the thought of blending that passion with fashion and functionality truly resonated with us. That’s how Fiorella was born. The name—meaning “little flower” in Italian—symbolizes growth, beauty, and the journey of blooming into something meaningful. Today, Fiorella is a brand that celebrates the beauty of movement and empowers people to move with confidence, creativity, and joy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting our business was far from easy. We knew we had to just jump in and take that leap of faith. There wasn’t a perfect plan, we simply understood that waiting too long would only delay progress. One of the biggest challenges we faced early on was building a social media presence. We quickly learned that showing up consistently online is not only important, it’s essential.

Our passion for health and wellness didn’t happen overnight. In fact, we weren’t always so into fitness. We’d dabbled here and there, but nothing really stuck
until we found SALT Hot Pilates. That’s where everything changed. It was where we fell in love with movement and truly began prioritizing our health. That experience sparked a shift in mindset and lifestyle, and eventually, it led to the creation of our business.

What sets us apart is our authenticity. We’ve been on both sides of the journey—from struggling with consistency to fully embracing wellness as a way of life. We want the world to know that taking care of your body and mind is one of the most important things you can do, and that it’s never too late to start. It is one of the most important investments you can make.

We’re proud to say that we’re growing and learning every step of the way. One exciting step forward has been recently teaming up with a talented social media manager, who will be helping us amplify our online presence. We’re excited about the direction we’re heading.

If there’s one lesson we’ve learned, it’s this: progress doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from consistency. Just start, even if it feels uncomfortable because that’s how growth happens.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in San Diego, there are a ton of exciting places to try. We love food and places with great ambiance. Starting with a nice coffee and delicious bagel at Spill the Beans in Seaport Village. You can enjoy a stroll down by the waterfront and even rent kites and fly them. For a more official brunch I would visit Morning Glory in Little Italy. They have a beautifully designed restaurant where you can enjoy the best breakfast carbonara pasta and delicious drinks.
For an upscale dinner, I would enjoy a steak at Born & Raised located in the heart of Little Italy, San Diego. They have a beautiful outdoor rooftop with views of downtown San Diego, especially during sunset.
After grabbing dinner, I would stop by for a drink at Gaslamplighter located in downtown San Diego. They have amazing cocktails and a karaoke bar where you can sing and dance the night away.
The following day for a more relaxed time, I would hike Torrey Pines State Beach. The hike is great for beginners with stunning views of the beach and a great way to enjoy nature. After the hike you can head to Del Mar beach and lay out to enjoy the San Diego sun.
There are so many different ways to enjoy San Diego, but those are our personal favorites from living here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to take a moment to give a heartfelt shoutout to our parents for always showing up with unwavering love and support. From the very beginning, they’ve encouraged us to go after what we wanted—whatever “it” was. Even when we were scared, uncertain, or completely lost, they reminded us to just go for it. To try. To take the leap. And if it didn’t work out, that was okay—what mattered was that we gave it a shot.

They’ve shown us that real growth comes from stepping outside our comfort zones, and they’ve modeled that in their own lives in the best way they could. Our parents may not have had all the opportunities or learned everything they hoped to, but they’ve always poured everything they have into making sure we had the chance to chase our dreams. They’ve believed in us even when we struggled to believe in ourselves.

That kind of love, grace, and encouragement is priceless and we’re so grateful for it.
