We had the good fortune of connecting with Alvin Do and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alvin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have a normal day job. I wanted to do something that would benefit my favorite hobbies. Off-roading and shooting sports. I wanted to be the guy people can trust to get their gear.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I retail off road and shooting sports parts/accessories. I also conduct mobile installs.
I have a day job and this is considered my “side hustle” and no it took a lot of research and putting myself out there to get where I am. Really to understand business well you just have to be in business and doing everything hands on.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Monday would be a travel day to an off-road or camping location. Tuesday hit the ground running and do some trails.
Wednesday look for a small quite spot and if shooting is permitted. Shoot some ammo have a good time.
Thursday come back to base camp. Settle down. Relax
Friday head home.
I love nature and off roading. I love just being in remote places and having lunch/dinner in places you shouldn’t be able to eat that good.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Dan Costa of 3pic hockey was always there to be supportive. He’s been in business for years prior to me even starting my business. Just watching him go through the ups and downs of business really help sort out my indecisiveness on opening one myself. We still partner up on some things right now and I have ti thank him for that.
