We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Felsenthal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
This is a fun one! I want to find value for others struggling with similar pain points I once had and make my passion my purpose to help others run with structure, strategy, and confidence for life, not just for the next PR. I want to make a difference in this world, and being a leader and woman in sports is an honorable opportunity to have an influence and voice to guide others to become their best selves. Working for myself has it’s own perks, too. 🙂

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I went from Corporate, Business working professional to Fitness, Business working professional, competitive runner, and run coach. My passion for helping others optimize performance in the running space and navigate the world with our feet stems from my frustrations of figuring it out on my own and doing it all on my own, out of stress, spite, hating my life, and not knowing any better. I am here to help others not make similar mistakes I once made, getting to learn and love running and navigating life through the ebbs and flows out and outside of it. I fail at tasks daily, but I love that. I believe in lessons, not failures, and wisdom breeds growth, so there would be more growth without those setbacks. I want the world to know Runwithalli as the female-founded running brand that made waves of influence across the globe and in the running community, allowing individuals and the everyday runner to believe in themselves and find their why and their meaning for movement through running.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hikes all day, baby. If it was in San Diego, I’d hit up San Elijo Lagoon (a new favorite spot), Puesto for some tacos, Torrey Pines for Hikes, Mission Trails, Lake Hodges, La Jolla for fun shopping, Pueblo for some more Mexican, and a good stroll around Crown Point.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to everyone who has believed in me from the beginning: my parents, my brother, my coach, my friends, my running community, and the individuals I get to work with and coach. I am lucky and honored to be surrounded by such positive, ambitious go-getters daily. I am fulfilled, and it pushes me to move the needle forward every day. So thank you. First and foremost, this entire group of individuals inspires me, the women in sports who now have a voice who once didn’t, me included. Let’s continue building up girls’ and women’s confidence through running, one step, one mile, one race at a time.
