We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandro, what makes you happy? Why?
Happiness ranges from small things to achieved achievements. I think that at the same time it is a question that seems simple, but it has to be answered, however, waking up in the morning, walking, having a cup of coffee, even listening to music, your favorite artist, but what really makes me happy is designing, that feeling of thinking and putting it on paper and seeing it built, wow is the best.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I studied architecture in Mexico City, certainly when I was away I saw the reality that the world is very different, there at that time ephemeral art projects began to catch my attention, these are small scale, and they are temporary , but despite this, there is a complexity since over the years, I competed to be able to design one but at the beginning it was difficult, due to lack of experience, age, but over time I improved and with perseverance, in In the last 3 years, those efforts began to be visualized, projects, the key is that if you do not see results in a short time, do not give up, believe me that sometimes it is exhausting and that you put effort but you do not see results, with all this as a professional you go improving, like everything, you are not born knowing a subject, if you like it, whatever, really enjoy it, put all your effort and believe me you will see the results, whether in a short or long term, when you see them, believe me that moment you will have a feeling of achievement.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One week would not be enough to see the greatness of a city, especially where I live now in Mexico City, without a doubt the first thing would be to try the gastronomy, the great variety of products that you can find, the impressive markets, colors, flavors , smells and why not travel by public transport, the subway, and you couldn’t miss a tour of Mexican architecture, from the pyramids, the colonial of the historic center and the contemporary, walking on Paseo de la Reforma, museums, the forest, I insist that for a week I would only know a little about what my city is like.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In the course of what I have done, I have met several people who influence what you do, I think there are certain people who create like that guideline, either through advice in your personality or criteria in your work, without a doubt my parents have been an important support, seeing your mother tell her about a success or failure you had, fills you with advice for you to continue, friends, colleagues, I couldn’t name them all since I wouldn’t finish, but as I mention each one gives you a grain of sand , follow the work of architects with extensive experience, I insist this list would be enormous.
