We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Crutchfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic career because I knew I was going to do my art regardless of everything else. So why not take the career path? This way, my art is the priority in my life when it comes to making a living. And even if I wasn’t making a living; I’m doing something I love and enjoy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a professional musician. I specialize in saxophones, flute, wind-synthesizer, and I also do some production. I’m not sure what sets me apart from others. I love to make music and I assume that the others do as well; but I’ve been able to make a decent career of it and I imagine it’s not just about my talent. I think what has gotten me this far is a combination of my skills, natural talent, personality, and a little business sense. Nothing worth-while is easy and challenges present themselves just about every day. But like with anything, it’s best to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. This means I don’t go into this expecting to make loads of money. As long as I can pay my bills and continue to enjoy my craft, I’m happy. This mentality has allowed me to perform and record with many iconic artists such as Anthony Hamilton, Ceelo Green, Bootsy Collins, Lionel Richie, Bette Midler, and yes even the one they call Prince!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In my experience, the locations are not what define the best experiences; it’s the COMPANY! So anywhere would be great as long as you enjoy one another’s company. Also (in my experience), most visitors already have an idea of what they want to see or do so it’s best to just be accommodating. But if I had to choose, i’d definitely take them for a trip down the PCH

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everyone who is trying to figure it out for themselves!
