We had the good fortune of connecting with Candice Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Candice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was thinking about my kids, my family and ofcourse being free from a 9-5 lol I didn’t want to work for anyone any longer I wanted to be my own boss. I wanted my kids and family to have something extra to be proud of me for. Also with all the sickness in families and losses due to these sicknesses starting a business with meaning or them was very important especially after losing my dad to heart failure, mom having a stroke both grandmas having cancer(one dying from it) and ofcourse these beautiful autistic kids that make us proud every day right along with other things wrapped around this… just wanted to give them something of their own

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I can honestly say none of it is easy at all plus we’re still up and coming. We have a very long way to go but one thing I can say we aren’t letting up until the world knows about us shoot we aren’t even letting up then lol it takes a lot of dedication, falling and getting back up, distractions to value what you’re trying to accomplish in life. A lesson I learned along the way is you can’t count on people to put the time and effort into your project the way you will sometimes it’s best to do it yourself until the right person comes along. We hired a guy to do our clothing just for it to sit in his store for almost a year. He didn’t have the drive for us the way we did and it was a lesson learned just taught us that it isn’t easy out here it’s going to be a bumpy road along the way. I want them to know the meaning behind it who we do it for. How important these people are to us wholeheartedly. Everything we do we’re looking for companies that also support them to support us and we support them. Team work!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my bestfriend to La Jolla hit the beach, a few restaurants. Hit pacific beach for the bars and the nightlife. Visit a few family members and friends. Go hiking, hit viejas gamble a little shoot we’re going to enjoy San Diego

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly I would love to dedicate this shoutout to the many people that inspired this design and pushed me to create it with love and create other designs with meaning! Those that have already purchased from us and put the word out about the clothing line also those that allowed me the time and day to manage their music. I also would love to dedicate this to my babies because besides everyone else this is for you guys. Mommy loves you guys. Mom without you I wouldn’t even be trying to make the moves I am trying to make you’re a blessing. I definitely have to thank this magazine for even noticing me and giving me this opportunity! And last but not least where would I be without the man above!!!
