Meet Javier Toscano | Farmer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Javier Toscano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Javier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since I was young, I had always wanted to have my own business. I am a self-thought person

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
what sets me apart from others is that I was pulled right back into what I love which is farming. I went to college and graduated with a degree in electronics technology and got to work at McClellan Air Force Base right after I became a US citizen. I am very proud that I built a good business which fulfil my desires of creating clean food and being able to provide for my family with a task that I love. I faced many challenges along the way to make my business successful. There were times when I did not make much profit doing the very thing that I love so I would always tell myself to be patient and eventually my business will succeed but it took longer than I wanted so I started growing items which my competition was not growing and eventually thing turned out in my favor. One lesson I learned was to do what I am good at and not copy my competitors but to be my own person and eventually those who are willing to support me will grow in numbers over the years. I want the world to know that if you have a desire stay on it and don’t listen to anyone who looks down at your business or tells you that it won’t work because if you love what you do, that is the drive that will take you to be successful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would show him my farm and everything that I have accomplished. I would take my friend to a nice restaurant which support local food producers. I love to drive to the mountains. I really enjoy visiting goldrush towns.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father. He thought me a strong work ethic and to show pride in my work by doing it the best way possible.
