We had the good fortune of connecting with Liron Shalom-Hickey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liron, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Definitely consistency and always willing to go above and beyond for our clients.

There is nothing more frustrated when you reach out to someone for help or asking them if they can do something and after they say they will do it, they fail in keeping their promise or follow through with what they said they were going to do.

This is one of the reasons I believe I was able to build good reputation in my in industry. My clients know they can give me any task and I will not go to sleep until I was able to deliver and provide them with what they needed.

This is my way of letting them know they are my priority, and communication and follow through are the keys to my success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work for a company called SERVPRO Sorrento Valley. We are nationwide and I’m in charge of San Diego County. I get to help people every single day 24/7 when they are dealing with water and fire emergencies.

What sets us apart is our dedication and true care for our clients. They see it and feel it in our actions.

I’m very proud to work with an awesome team of professionals who have the most amazing work ethics. The growth of our company over the years is a reflection of our clients trust in us, and this truly makes me happy, but more than anything I love knowing that people are being taken care of and receiving exceptional service, especially since they’re already under so much stress. So giving them a peace of mind, means a lot to me.

I use to manage properties and heard about SERVPRO Sorrento Valley through that. After transitioning to SERVPRO, It took years of hard work until I found myself at a position that I am today where I get to work with almost everyone in San Diego county in the property management and insurance profession/ industry! Many sleepless nights, leaving the house at 6 AM and almost every day not back until 2 AM making sure everyone has been taken care of.

I’m very passionate about helping people and I love what I do, but for most people it would be hard working 16 hours a day.

I learned that there are no shortcuts but at the same time we need to learn how to find balance. Life is too short, but we also need to take advantage of being young and do what we can to make our futures and our kids futures easier!

I would like the world to know that there is place for everyone, things can be done in a peaceful way and staying positive is one of the most important things in life…. and by having faith it can definitely help. Work hard, play harder and family at the end of the day comes first. I’m a big believer that good attracts more good.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Fun! I think any place is exciting as long as you are with the right people but I am definitely a planner so if I knew a friend is coming to visit me I would definitely make a list of places we must go and see together which would most likely be Coronado Island, Seaport Village, Balboa Park, Seaworld, the zoo, Catalina Island and would definitely take them on a walk in Mission Bay, Pacific Beach or even Ocean Beach if we had the time lol

As far as restaurants, I love to eat and find something I love almost anywhere so I’m not really picky, but I would probably find some good Thai place or sushi…. with probably take them to shoguns just so they can enjoy the food show before getting the meal

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people I’m grateful for and can thank them for where I’m at today!

I will start by thanking my parents, not for all the wise things that they have taught me but actually for all the mistakes they have made! Through that I learned how I want my life to be and what not to do… I became more independent and knew I wouldn’t depend on anyone for anything I wanted and needed, but will earn it and work hard for it by myself.

I also think that if it wasn’t for my wonderful husband I wouldn’t be able to accomplish as much as I have. His love, support and understanding of my crazy schedule over the years truly made me feel powerful and helped me flourished in what I love to do, which is being out there helping people.

And of course Jim Thompson who i have worked with for 10 years, and from day one he had faith in me and already knew what I was capable of doing business wise, always gave me the freedom and trust which means everything to me.
