We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Horn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travis, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In my time pursuing my dream I have taken multiple risks, with the first being to believe in myself and not live with regret by never taking a chance on myself. When I applied to pro wrestling school I knew If I was accepted that I would need to bet on myself to fully immerse myself within what I always dreamed about. Over time I have worked multiple jobs and lost countless hours of sleep to take the risks I deemed necessary to find fulfillment because everyone definition is different. If I’m going to take risks that involve my time and money I make sure that I can see the possible reward. Risks are one of the one of the scariest yet most exciting things in life and every once in awhile you should find one to break of the complacency we get lost in with our daily routines!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My form of art come through my in ring presentation of my character JT Energy. When you see someone like a pro wrestler, band, or stand up comic you are looking at the overall presentation to make sure what you have spent your time and money on was worth the experience. As JT Energy I try to make sure when I interact with my audience that it will leave them with an emotional connection strong enough to tell others about enjoying a night of pro wrestling, even if they have never attended a show. JT Energy like most others pro wrestlers is trying to build up the local scene to make it stronger for others that come after him to help the business flourish for the next generation of pro wrestlers chasing their dream!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I’m based in the Quad Cities of Iowa & Illinois I would plan a week full of experiences for my best friend and I to make lasting memories doing! I would make sure to enjoy the best pizza in the area at Lopiez Pizza so we could watch Pro Wrestling and eat pizza! I would also invite him to come get a workout in with me at the Black & Brave Wrestling Academy where I became a pro wrestler and has an amazing workout facility. To end the week I would get him front row seats to watch me wrestle for local promotion SCW Pro.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my parents for believing in me to chase my dream and continuing to support me no matter what! I want to thank my fiancé for helping me find a personal and professional balance that benefits our relationship!

Lastly I want to thank my grandparents who passed away but made sure to set their grandkids up for success by helping put aside funds to make dreams a reality!
