We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennie Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I reflect on starting my business, I realize it was born less from thoughts and more from intuition. My heart led and then my mind followed. The first thought I truly had was “I don’t know what this will look like, how I will get there, I only know that I’m meant for it”. I didn’t have the experience, resources or plan– only the knowing in my heart that it was right.
This powerful knowing came to me after a ton of inner work and profound transformation in every area of my life. The beginning of this transformation came after an intense wake up call in my life. Shortly after moving to San Diego in 2019, I realized I had recreated my life from the East Coast even though my intention was to “start over”. I realized that no matter where I lived, even if it looked like paradise– if I wasn’t fulfilled on the inside I’d have the same experiences. I decided to look within and I haven’t looked back since. I worked with numerous mentors, coaches and for the first time in my life– I showed up for me. I learned to love myself, break unhealthy relationship patterns, and began creating the life I deserved. Through this process of self-transformation, I started seeing that everything I had been through had given me unlimited wisdom and passion to help others.
From here, endless creativity and inspiration unlocked. I soon had hundreds of ideas in my IPhone notes. I started brainstorming ideas for a logo, and even hired a website and brand designer without even fully knowing what I was creating. I decided to trust that these ideas wouldn’t be here if they weren’t meant to be. I had already been working with a Mindset Coach who then supported me in starting my business, the website designer turned into my forever graphic designer, and multiple women that I had connected with for my own personal development ended up as my first clients. The growth and impact has been endless ever since.
While I would have never imagined I’d be a business owner, I look back and see how my life was always leading me to its creation. I’m so glad to have been so connected to my truth and followed my intuition.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is a personal brand that offers 1:1 Coaching guiding women to love themselves like never before, and create and sustain healthy relationships. I work with women regardless of their relationship status in a 4 month personalized Coaching journey. Although the possibilities are endless in this container, the three main areas of focus are: Unconditional Self Love, Healing the Past, and receiving Healthy, Fulfilling love.
I am additionally a Nurse Coach, which is a Nurse trained in the Art and Science of Coaching. This is the only Board Certification that exists in the Coaching industry. The combination of my intuition, evidence-based Coaching, and life experiences allow me to show up powerfully for my clients and guide them to their desires.
What I want people to take away from my business and my story is that it’s often our lowest, most challenging experiences that hold the potential for transformation and positivity on the other side. Everyone holds the power to transform their pain and heartbreak–and by doing so it brings so much meaning to your experiences. I’ve learned that all I have been through has brought me to my purpose, and allows me to deeply empathize with my clients in what they are going through. They feel safe to be seen for who they are and never feel judged or misunderstood, which I think is so easy to feel when opening up about love and relationships. Supporting my clients to transform their pain into power, love, and purpose is my true calling and it’s an honor to do this work.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely start out each day with a workout at Studio Barre Bird Rock. La Jolla, and specifically Bird Rock is by far my favorite part of San Diego. Although I don’t typically drink coffee, I love local coffee shops and I’d then bring them to Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. We’d also do some shopping at Bobbi Rocco and eventually make our way to Windansea Beach– my favorite beach in San Diego. On another day, we’d definitely go see the seals in La Jolla Cove. Although it’s mainly a tourist attraction, it honestly never got old to me. Especially love seeing the baby seals. We’d then do some shopping and grab some takeout from Aroi, the best Thai food I’ve ever had! I’d also want to take them to Holy Matcha in North Park, another one of my favorite spots. I fell in love with Matcha lattes because of this place. I’d also be sure they saw Sunset Cliffs and that we had some good convos at Kate Sessions park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so grateful to say that there are so many people who have been a big part of my success. My first mentor Nicole, who first opened my eyes to learning to love myself. My best friend Amerra and her endless, unconditional love through my ups and downs. My prior boss, Bonnie, who encouraged me to believe in myself and gave me the opportunity to move to California. My first Coach, Amy, who guided me in my transformation and the birth of my business. Tina, my graphic designer who brought my business to life and has become an incredible friend. And my Mom, my number 1 fan and my first love. And of course, I dedicate this to my past, current and future clients– supporting you brings me endless joy and you are what truly keeps me living my purpose every day.
