We had the good fortune of connecting with BRIAN BATES and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BRIAN, how do you think about risk?
Risks don’t have to be reckless. Some people fear taking risks, and I think most times that’s what holds us back from success. I personally bet on myself when making the decision to relocate to San Diego from Michigan. I bet on myself in order to make a better life for my kids. I had and still have a vision of success in craft beer, marketing, brand management as well as the face of craft beer. So was it a risk? Not at all. I consider myself a trailblazer and my decision to take the risk will be rewarded. My kids are everything to me, and I want them to be proud of dad. I want to give them a future here in California with nice weather and beaches. So yes, I bet on myself and will not crap out. 👊🏽🍻
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most definitely. I’m the owner of N2CRAFTZ, It’s a lifestyle and craft beer movement. Musically generated to enjoy good beer while enjoying good music. I wanted to showcase my love of craft beer in music video format. I’m all about being a trailblazer and showcasing a unique twist in the craft beer influencer niche. I love being a beertender, I love talking beer and also love showcasing beer on my platforms. I just wanted to separate myself by pairing beer with music, not food. Music is for the soul. Where are the craft beer commercials? With over 250 breweries in SoCal alone, why aren’t there any commercials? My vision for N2CRAFTZ was to showcase that beer you enjoy, but in music video, commercial format. Spice up the standard “picture holding the beer”. The feedback is tremendous and I’m looking forward to the big things in 2022.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Good question. Well I reside in America’s finest city, San Diego. So the list is pretty long on things to do. Let’s see, for starters I love the padres games, so let’s hope when friends visit for the week, they’re home games played lol. We have to pre game at West Brew downtown, bubs at the ballpark etc. During the week visit balboa park, pacific beach, ocean beach and sunset cliffs. Shopping needs, fashion valley mall. I like to shop lol. Wait we haven’t eaten yet, Phil’s bbq is my jam, and also liberty station has great food and beer choices.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I Most definitely want to give a huge shout out to Michael Haddad from Detroit Grooming company. He may not know how much influence he had on me while partnering with their brand back in Michigan, but he definitely did. He taught me to know my value, not just my worth. What do I bring to the table that stands out over others. He’s definitely a very wise individual, and I will always consider him a friend.
