We had the good fortune of connecting with Janene Verabian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janene, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
As a general rule in my life, I try not to take on things I don’t see myself finishing. Yet, every so often, something needs to prematurely come to an end, even if I had the best intentions. Those moments for me I believe reveal opportunities or projects that are not resonating with me on a gut level. It’s so important to be true to yourself when trying to obtain new goals. If it feels “off,” or like something is not organic about the path you’ve chosen, it’s is totally ok and actually healthy to stay true to yourself and adjust your sails. I do not see this as giving up, or a failure, I see this as living authentically. And for me, that is the only way to live.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I am passionate about my work because it presents a gateway to healing that is long-lasting and highly beneficial to my clients. Many times in sessions, my clients can get clear on their goals, but challenges present when the child inside them slows things up. YES, the child in you, runs you. Day and night. Harboring negative beliefs because of a subconscious idea you decided to believe about you at an earlier stage in life. It wrecks your game every time. When you clear that up, your goals can take center stage. Watching that a-ha moment occur with my clients never gets old. I work with clients who are done with mediocre lives, toxic relationships, dead-end jobs and need help mapping things out to make true progress that is sustainable. They demand more, and I make sure their goals line up with what their subconscious mind believes so they can get there. It’s the kind of transformation and gratification that I would bottle if I could. It’s just that good.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Newport Beach is home base for me in the OC, however, I also am in the process of expanding to the Las Vegas market! I am a self-proclaimed “homebody” but I do love live music and food, which Vegas is known for the best of. The energy of Vegas cannot be duplicated and I believe music gives people experiences that cannot be put into words. It’s healing, it’s motivating, and it’s your memories. Fine dining is always a treat, and enjoying that alongside a beautiful ambiance with someone you care about is a memory maker. So, there’s a high chance I’d be doing those things. Newport’s beaches have magical healing elements no doubt. People make transformational decisions by them every day. So the water and sand in your step is a must-do. Ever watch a meteor shower as the waves crash in? I have. The silence other than the power of the waves crashing is an experience you cannot buy. It is by intention that I surround myself with good people with good hearts, big thinkers, deep talkers, and believers in positive change. When you have people around you like that, where you are or what you have seems irrelevant. I’m lucky enough to be well-traveled and am so grateful for all the goodies along the way, but there is nothing like being real, experiencing organic moments with deep connections and curating strong relationships. Therein lies my true love. The rest, well, it is just stuff.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The book Untamed by Glennon Doyle made a significant impression on me. I found it to be very authentic and a must-read for young girls finding their way in life. I also think it’s a very good reminder to adult women as well to be a bit more fearless and take more chances in life. One of the chances I’ve decided to take has been in creating my own book about surviving painful and toxic relationships. It’s been an emotional process but it is nearly complete, and I look forward to its release later this year. Above all, I want to acknowledge and give credit to my past, which at one point kept me stifled. However, having healed from my past trauma, I’m grateful for every bump and bruise that shaped me into the strong and resilient woman I am today. My journey has taught me invaluable lessons. Those lessons allow me to know how to hold space for my clients as a Clinical Hypnotherapist due to intuitively (and many times literally) knowing where they are from being there myself. One of my mantras is: Hold the door for the next girl, help her along even if no one did that for you. That’s my thing.
