Meet Chelsea Caddick: Hair & Makeup Artist, Owner of Chelsea Rose Beauty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Caddick of Chelsea Rose Beauty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work-life balance is always changing. I don’t see it as a straight level to maintain, I see it more as a seesaw scale that goes up and down. In different seasons and stages of my business, there will require a lot of dedication and workload from me and that may make me feel like my balance is off, but I know it won’t stay like that forever. Once I accomplish a big (or small goal) in my business then I go into dedicating more time to my relationships and pour into myself more so I feel rejuvenated. I think it’s really important to make sure you don’t stay on one side of the scale for too long otherwise, you may lose momentum.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me to get to where I am today, professionally, I’ve had to overcome major mindset trash, old money stories, and learn to love myself fully. That might seem like a totally irrelevant answer, but I truly didn’t see any success in my business until I started working on those things. Now I can tell the world, with confidence, that I specialize in long-lasting hair & makeup that feels weightless and compliments every woman through my pampering services & products. Right now I am most excited about my recent launch of the Chelsea Rose Beauty Shop. It’s starting with Bridal hair accessories but will blossom in 2021!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omigosh, I’m a real foodie so my list is endless for restaurants that I love but definitely make time for any restaurant in Little Italy (my favorite is Davanti Enoteca – great for wine and you have to order the Focaccia Di Recco). When I’m just hanging out in San Diego, I like to be active so I would suggest a hike at Cowles Mountain or a beautiful beach walk (mild hike) at Torrey Pines State Reserve.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For starters, I have to give a shout out to each and every artist I’ve ever met in San Diego, you all have inspired me and encourage me in some way. I also want to show Ashley Fierro some love because her mentorship program really helped me turn a passion into a career.
