Meet Jay Le

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, what do you attribute your success to?
I’d say the biggest factor behind our success is that we’ve built the business around trust. With used bikes, the real question is never just what it looks like today, it’s what kind of life it’s already had. We work hard to understand that story, identify any gaps in road worthiness, and make sure the next rider isn’t taking on problems they didn’t sign up for. People can feel when that level of care is real, and I think that’s what has made the difference.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, this work has always been about building something with real substance and a clear point of view. I’m most proud that it’s grown into something that feels genuinely its own, something honest, distinct, and grounded in how I actually see the world.
Getting here professionally was not easy. It took patience, a lot of learning in real time, and a willingness to grow through mistakes without losing the bigger vision. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that clarity comes through the process. Over time, you learn that what lasts is not just what looks good, but what feels real, consistent, and built with intention.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A few kinds of places I’d personally want to include are the ones that don’t scream for attention. Chicano Park for sure. Maybe Tuna Harbor if the timing is right. Maybe a quieter corner of Bonita. Maybe Leucadia over a busier beach strip. Maybe a food stop in National City or Chula Vista that looks almost too modest until you taste it. Those are the places that make a trip feel personal.
the best version of this area is not just the famous places. It’s the mix. It’s the coast, yes, but also the neighborhoods, the family-run food spots, the murals, the backroads, the places with history, and the places that still feel like they belong to the people who live there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d give that those close to me who have kept encouraging me to stay rooted in integrity. Because when you’re trying to grow, there’s always pressure to move faster, say less, and overlook a few things. The people who matter most are often the ones reminding you to stay solid, stay honest, and build something you can actually stand behind.
