We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabrielle Coleman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabrielle, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Mothers Heal™ is a maternal wellness organization founded to revolutionize postpartum care. Using a trauma-informed and behavioral health-based approach, the company supports mothers navigating postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional numbness through programs, digital content, physical wellness tools, and community-centered care.
Our services integrate neuroscience, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral/abnormal/cognitive psychology, concepts of urban design/planning, and holistic healing to empower mothers spiritual wellness, and urban planning to holistically nurture mothers through recovery.
This isn’t just a company, it’s a community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is not paint on canvas. My art is healing—deliberate, raw, and deeply human. It is the quiet transformation of pain into power, chaos into compassion, and postpartum shadows into light. Through Mothers Heal, I’ve created more than a business. I’ve built a sanctuary. A balm. A movement.

I am a God fearing woman.
I am a wife & mother.
I am a survivor.
I am a behavioral visionary.
I am an urban designer.
I am a role model.
I am a leader.

However, above all, I am a woman who refused to let pain silence her.
I faced postpartum depression, anxiety, and the emotional numbness that so many women suffer with in silence. I lived it—and I healed out loud and that healing became my compass. It gave me the power to create Mothers Heal, a space where the behavioral sciences, maternal wellness, and community care intertwine to support women before, during, and after birth.

What sets me apart is that I am not just studying behavioral maternal mental health—I embodied it. I blended my academic knowledge with my lived experience as a postpartum mother. This gave birth to my unique mission: to become the first Postpartum Behavior Analyst in the country, integrating behavior analysis, behavioral/abnormal psychology, and urban wellness design into maternal care.

Mothers Heal is not just another wellness brand. It’s a lifeline.
It’s a space where the trauma of childbirth, domestic violence, and postpartum identity loss are met with actionable healing—through counseling, community events, neuro-informed postpartum programs, group/individual sessions and holistic self-care products that speak the language of mothers.

I am well pleased of my resilience, but I’m even more pleased of how that resilience ripples—through every mother who tells me, “You said what I couldn’t put into words.” And……. No, it was not easy to tell myself to get through the fear of being sure of whether I could even start this. Buying my domain had me sweatin’. But I did it anyway, building this while healing, building this while parenting, building these journey’s while unraveling the trauma in my own bloodline. But I did it anyway—with every late night, every breakthrough, every painful growth moment. I used every “no” as redirection. It was grit—that sacred maternal fire—that got me here.

You don’t have to be fully healed to start helping others heal.

I want the world to know that postpartum is not a phase—it’s a portal.
And if we do not hold mothers as they pass through it, we risk losing generations of joy, safety, and mental stability.

Mothers Heal is not just about services. It’s about storytelling. Safety. Sisterhood.
It’s about giving mothers the tools, language, and space to come home to themselves after birth, after trauma, after loss.

This isn’t just my brand—it’s my body of work. It’s my legacy. And it’s just the beginning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In reflecting on the unwavering support, mentorship, love, and encouragement I’ve received throughout my journey, I want to honor those who have walked alongside me. My deepest gratitude goes to my husband Christopher for actually being what I prayed for, being supportive, allowing me to be my WHOLE SELF, and being a great covering for mental health and life. My children for being so smart, understanding, inquisitive and loving. Teaching them boundaries and ways of self esteem has been tough but rewarding.
My parents for allowing me to restart, heal and break generational curses that need to be done before moving to my next faze in life. Chiara Hensley through her inspirations while she was on Earth she was a great counselor and the best big sister a girl could have. Gabrielle Pina who showed me that leaving and starting fresh can benefit your growth so things can come to you in the most rewarding ways. Tarah my Shadow Work Counselor and all time soul sista, through our friendship perspective shifts and breakthroughs are truly where my changes came from.
My sister-besties who I can always run things by and have heart to heart conversations with for building. Lastly, the illustrious Tuskegee University. Each of you has played a vital role in shaping the woman I am today. Tuskegee, in particular, challenged me to think beyond limitations, to speak truth as a woman of color, and to embrace the power of awareness in a world that often overlooks it. As well as truly living on my own to really know about how to survive.

This unique cohort of individuals—and the historic institution that nurtured my growth—have taught me invaluable life lessons. Some showed me the importance of surrounding myself with the right people; others reminded me how to love myself and extend that love to others. I learned how to adapt in unfamiliar environments and, just as importantly, when to release connections that no longer served my well-being.

Together, they stood by me during some of the most difficult moments of my life—through mental health challenges, intrusive thoughts, and the emotional aftermath of childbirth in which postpartum depression and other severe moods impaired my life. As I rebuilt my life from the ground up, their presence helped me reclaim my identity and remember my strength. Their unwavering support, consistent reminders, and loyal love are why Mothers Heal is so deeply rooted in my heart. It’s not just a business—it’s a tribute to the healing power of community.
