We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Mari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
My entire life has revolved around the game of golf, and especially in the game I know too well, there are risks at every turn, some turn out great, some turn out not so great, same thing goes in real life.

To me, anything life or career is risk/reward, it either works or it doesn’t, you won’t know until you try it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Life has been a weird rollercoaster, after being an entrepreneur close to 5 years, I decided to take an interesting detour and go into the corporate world, specifically Topgolf, and it’s been surprisingly quite fun.

Going from doing everything by yourself, to having people that can help you at every step of the way has me spoiled.

Now granted, Topgolf isn’t your typical corporate 9-5 job, but going from entrepreneur to employee has actually been an easier transition than I thought it was going to be.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The theme parks are obvious, this is Central Florida after all, but Orlando is becoming such a well rounded city that there is so much to do.

Orlando has so many food spots from so many different cultures, the choices are endless.

Going to the Kia Center for events is a given, but the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center for everything theatre and broadway related is so underrated, people often forget we have both within walking distance of each other.

Literally Orlando has everything and anything, you name it, we probably have it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely got to shoutout the television show I was on for 2 seasons, The Blox.

The amount of clarity of where I want to go after being apart of it was a game changer and I couldn’t do it without everyone involved.
