Meet Qiurui Du

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Qiurui Du again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Qiurui, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Thanks for having me back.
So, for anyone new to my world, I’m Qiurui Du. I’m an artist, and I mainly paint with acrylic paints. I love using bright colors and creating paintings that feel a bit dreamy and magical. I’m interested in exploring what it means to be human, especially as a woman today.
I think what makes my art different is that it’s kind of a mashup! I was born in China but studied art in the US, so my work has some East meets West vibe. Also, I’m super passionate about helping other artists, especially young Asian creatives. That’s why I started the E.E Art Group – it’s all about supporting each other and making cool things happen.
Honestly, my journey has been a wild ride! I’ve shown my paintings in galleries all over China and some other countries and even collaborated with some brands. Right now, I’m focused on expanding my presence internationally and building a global brand that encompasses both my art and unique artistic products.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
It’s been a year of incredible growth and exciting new ventures! While I’ve been consciously slowing down to focus on my artistic vision and personal rhythm, it’s amazing to look back and see how much has unfolded.
I’ve had the opportunity to present my work in a variety of settings, from solo exhibitions like “Telenovelas” and “The Silent Flying Tears” at EYECANIDES Gallery and Kuiyuan Gallery to group shows like “Bad Boys” at the British Embassy in Beijing. Each show has allowed me to connect with new audiences and explore different facets of my artistic practice.
Participating in art fairs like Art Moment Jakarta and Art021 Shanghai has been invaluable for expanding my network and gaining international exposure. Seeing my work resonate with collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide is thrilling.
Beyond exhibitions, I’ve also been fortunate to collaborate with some amazing brands this year, from Fan Bingbing’s beauty brand Fan Beauty Dairy to a playful summer collection with Daphne. Lab, these partnerships have allowed me to explore new creative avenues and bring my art to a wider audience.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of this year has been connecting with the broader art community. I’ve participated in engaging panel discussions at ART021 and Shanghai’s international illustration festival. I’ve also enjoyed sharing my work through interviews with publications like EveryArt, Floorr Magazine, and AL-Tiba9 Art Magazine.
And, of course, I can’t forget the incredible experience of completing my artist residency at Swatch Peace Hotel! Immersing myself in a new environment and connecting with fellow artists has been incredibly inspiring. I’m excited to see how this experience will shape my future work.
Looking back, it’s clear that 2024 has been a personal and professional growth journey. I’m grateful for every opportunity and challenge and excited to see what the future holds!

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

I’m also working on my first art book, which is pretty cool! It will be a collection of my works, kind of like a visual diary of my journey as an artist. I’m excited to share it with everyone soon.
And, of course, I’m always looking forward to meeting other artists and art lovers at my exhibitions and events. The art world is constantly changing, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
