Meet Mayra Gonzalez | Entrepeneur -Party Rental Business

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mayra Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mayra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting a business was full of uncertainty.
What if this is not a good idea? what if it doesn’t work out? what if no body rents from me? Every week there was a new “what if”. But over time those negative thoughts turned into What if I do this differently to get the most positive outcome.? What if I join expos and get my product out there?, What if I now offer a new item? Ultimately the thought process is something that only you can create in your own mind, whether you make that a positive thought or negative thought is up to you.
I decided to change things for the better, to give it a try , if you believe in an idea, and you have a positive hunch about it, or something in your brain that tells you “what if” that means you should give it a try. There is only one way to find out whether that “what if” is the right What if.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work consists of helping people make their event that more memorable, lighting up the party in away. My letters will light up any area of the event space beautifully. What set us apart is the cleanliness of our inventory, the attention to detail we will be the ones hiding the extension cord so that its not as visible, we will be the ones making sure every light bulb is on and not crooked or just hanging . I got to where I am professionally with dedication, perseverance, physical support and emotional support of friends and family, and the unconditional support of my husband. I have always had a mind full of ideas, full of I need to try something new, I dislike boring, I need to always make a change. This business allows for lots of changes, creativity, it is definitely never boring and it requires social media which is just all that I love. If one idea doesn’t work I keep looking at every other possibility .
The biggest challenge was overcoming the mental block that we all have when taking risks into starting a new skill, or trade, or business.
I believe I got to where I am by persevering, if one idea didn’t work out I had more to try. No it has not been easy, it has been tough but overtime you begin creating the best work habit to facilitate all the work load. The growth of your business entails the growth of the amount of work you need to put in.
Everyday things get better as long as you like what you do for a living. An important lesson I have learned through this Journey is the start of your business opens a door to many many more opportunities, one of them is the opportunity for your kids to see what they could accomplish on their own if they set their mind to it and have perseverance ,that right there means you are already successful.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to my loving husband Claude who supported me then and continues to support me on this wild idea of mine of creating and now managing Pretty In Bulbz light Up Letter Rentals.
